Folks from an era hallmarked by unprecedented peace and prosperity with people in office representing some of the finest minds in America across both the left and the right who are now a huge part of the Democratic Party since they represented a successful and twice-elected administration? Hell's bells, we can't have that!

Africans were hoping to resolve conflicts this year under Bush rather than face a return of the missile-happy Clinton team.

Nope no war in the balkins or an artificial tech bubble during the 90s...

A war in the Balkans that was won with very few losses, and a tech bubble that was very survivable without a huge hit on other sectors of the economy.

Neither compares to what is going on today.

Let's see: Bush appoints all his daddy's friends and former cabinet people (who were also former friends and cabinet people under Reagan) and it is A-OK.

Obama may appoint people from a previous administration with which he was wholly uninvolved in and this is somehow bad?

Did we or did we not have a massively successful mission?

Tech bubble caused a downturn in the tech sector when it popped NOT A DOWNTURN IN ALL SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY LIKE THE DAMN BANKING PROBLEM. It was caused by bad investment, NOT DEREGULATION LIKE THE DAMN BANKING PROBLEM.

Since some people still seem to think Presidents can control the economy if you are going to credit them with things who gets the blame for:

The manufacturing sector entering a recession in October of 2000 adn the loss of all those manufacturing jobs?

Then there was the last world wide financial crisis- the Asian currency melt-down. The US suffered and economic slowdown and increased unemployment, the stock market even suspended trading. Many blamed it on the United State's trade, interest rate and currency policies.

Interestingly enough the reactions to the Asian "flu" as it was called was the developement of foreign currency reserves by many countries which they invested in the US. Some say these helped create both the tech bubble and housing bubble along with increased forieng ownership of US debt.

I still say we owe Bill Clinton one. We let that dude down. You want to get a sense of how much shiat he did for us, the best he could do was get a hummer on the sly from the chubby chick who brought in the mail. And rumor has it he was still doing work while she was polishing the first knob. WTF? He was the president. He should have been wrecking some choice ass. We, as dutiful citizens, should have taken it upon ourselves to say, "Hell, no! Not on my watch!" And then hooked him up with some palatable ass. We failed him. I think we should all chip in 5 bucks and get the old man a weekend at the Bunny Ranch. He earned it.

Peace and Prosperity?

I guess its considered peace if you stick your head in the sand and ignore all the growing threats until they explode in the face of the next generation.

I guess its considered prosperity when you ride a tech bubble and leave office in a recession. When the first thing the media reports on under the next administration is the plight of the Homeless and that the Rich are richer and the Poor are Poorer.

I guess its considered a successful administration when its primary achievement was lasting 8 years without a successful prosecution of the president and first lady. Lots of indictments and scandals though.

I guess its a good thing when your so intent on being 'peaceful' that you ignore the genocide in Rwanda.

I mean God Forbid that you take a strong stand on something and then it becomes unpopular and you decide to do the right thing and see it through.

I guess in a way the democratic party is like a big fat fatty who keeps going on a diet so they can loose the first twenty pounds of water weight.....then they go right back to eating Doritos because its just too hard.

Look, I know it pains you to admit, but Bush has utterly and miserably failed at everything. No amount of bbbbbbut Clinton will change that. Someday, you'll wake up and realize this, and trust me, you'll be happier because of it. Clinton obviously had his faults, but all anyone has to do is ask themselves, "Was I better off under Clinton or under Bush?" to see how silly you look trying to defend Bush.

And in 8 years, when the Dems have fixed all your party's farkups once again, you'll be better off. So quit whining you goddamned pussy and just wait for the adults to fix this mess.

At least Clinton didn't invade the Balkins, resulting in 4500 KIA, 15K permanently disabled, and untold numbers psychologically scarred for life - soldiers and civilians.

Plus, the tech-bust didn't require a $700B bail-out - it was self-correcting, with the majority of losses on paper only.

/2/10. Not even a "nice try".
