The researchers must have discovered Free Republic and Loose Change.

It's not paranoia when they really are after you.

Paranoia more common that thought? So for every thought someone has, they should have at least one, typically more than one bit of paranoia?

Explains the 9/11 conspiracy shiat...

It'll destroy ya.

I see what you did there.

Why are you watching me?

"If you're paranoid, we know what you are and what you want. Stay on the line and we'll trace your call."
Ha. Paranoid people are funny.

I wonder if the results are correlated with an increase in marijuana use. Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

I'm just wondering what the heck is in our water supply, what the heck is in our oxygen supply of the metallic oxide salts that creates a rainbow effect in a sprinkler? What is oozing out of our ground that allows this type of effect to happen?

Experts say paranoia may be more common than thought.

How do they know?

dan_in_oakland 2008-11-16 10:12:59 AM
Anyone who's been to any of the big anti-war demos knows this. Talk to ten people at one of these and you'll find at least one functional yet also completely nutzoid person. The kind who can hold a job, get his own coffee, and then back you into a corner with a glittering eye and rant for forty-five minutes about all the different ways she knows she's being watched....

DeRosso 2008-11-16 10:13:26 AM
Protip: Don't ever go to a psychiatrist or a psychologist - they will just diagnose you with something, no matter what

They want your money!

/I'm not even sure I'm being paranoid

Haha, I laughed way harder than I should have at this headline.

I think that's because it reminded me of my mother.

Juc 2008-11-16 11:22:01 AM
More common than I think? I dunno about that.
It has always seemed fairly common to me since there'd always be a paranoid person or two at every job I've worked at...for some reason the people who say things such as "people hate me and are out to get me, blah blah blah" always come to me to complain.

trixter_nl 2008-11-16 12:30:48 PM
To feed into the subject.

ACTA, EU/US one way data sharing, the new solid state laser (which can potentially change the balance of power if they launch thousands into space), MI5 UK harvesting of phone calls, sms, emails, web pages, etc. The fingerprint requirement the EU is mandating (2 prints from every citizen), the list goes on. There is real stuff to be paranoid about, no wonder paranoia is "normal" :)

Just wanted to applaud subby for writing the only headline I've seen since this T-shirt madness that would actually look good on a T-shirt or bumper sticker. Kudos.

/Still not buying one, though.

Hello. Welcome to the Psychiatric Hotline.

If you are obsessive-compulsive, please press 1 repeatedly.

If you are co-dependent, ask someone to press 2 for you.

If you have multiple personalities, please press 3, 4, 5, and 6.

If you are delusional, press 7 and your call will be transferred to the mother ship.

If you are paranoid-delusional, we know who you are and what you want. Please stay on the line until we can trace the call.

The rest is at: http://www.pendulum.org/humor/humor_psych_hotline.html (new window)

\That's common alright.
