In East Grand Forks we had something like that happen a few years ago. Fully loaded Sugar Beet truck had the green light, cop car had the red light, but had it's lights on. It was a blind corner so neither one saw each other. The beet truck was doing about 30 and the cop was doing about 50. The beet truck couldn't stop fully loaded and the cop was going too fast.

The beet truck was flipped in its side, taking out a stoplight. From what I was told, the cop car was about half it's original length afterward. Had the cop hit under the box he would have probably been killed as the top would have been taken off and the lower part went straight under. Thankfully he the fuel tank/cab so he didn't go under the truck.

The cop car was totaled and they had the beet truck repaired after a few days.

Perhaps people involved in a rescue effort were also injured. Hard to say, with the story as poorly written as it is.

Early indications suggested that the driver of the truck might have fallen asleep at the wheel. Sources close to the investigation also said that the bus, which had 75 seats was overloaded, carrying 92 passengers.

The bus company probably said 75 when the story first broke.
