Considering you can walk in to any mexican restaurant and find 5-10 illegals at any given time, or go to certain street corners and pick up a work crew of illegals for the day, I'd say you're right.

I know that California Agriculture relies heavily on migrant labor. Our food prices wouldn't remain as low as they are if we hired regular workers and paid minimum wage. OTOH I don't like the idea of someone shiatting in a field and giving the rest of us e-coli. Our immigration laws are prohibitively restrictive. And since the beginning California has been demonstratebly anti Mexican. They get a really bad rap for no reason.
This is the extent of my knowledge.

That means the single mom who plays by the rules and has a job and contributes to society now pays more taxes and more for everything. That is not remotely fair or just, nor is it just to the millions of Americans who have at great expense followed the law and immigrated legally.

The greatest consequence of ILLEGAL immigration is the breakdown in the rule of law; citizens may now rightly question why they are expected to follow the law when the government flouts it to a ridiculous degree. We don't allow illegal rape, we don't allow illegal murder, and we similarly shouldn't allow illegal immigration.
