Obama had to compete with the Republican and Clinton political machines for power while Medvedev had be friendly with Comrade Putin which makes him more of a lap dog. How drunk do you have to be do find Russia threatening, anyway?

SilentStrider [TotalFark] 2008-11-16 12:41:26 AM
besides.

After dealing with Hillary's nonsense, you think Putin is going to be much of a challenge? ;)

Yeah I'm sure Obama is scared of the Russians. He's more likely to get offed by a bitter American.

Wait, actually I think I got it right.

Obama was talking about sending troops right up Pakistan's ass, what makes anybody think he's going to bend to Russia?

Obama pretty much tends to own any room he walks into. He's pretty intimidating. Medvedev, the sock puppet, is not.

The victory speech in Chicago pretty much cemented how he'll walk into any situation... youtube it: He walked out on that stage like he had a 12-inch cock dangling between his legs. Obama is going to eat other world leaders for lunch with a smile on his face. And they're going to like it, and thank him for it.

Oh noes, Russia has made a dangerous leap in military spending over the next year...

To $50 billion dollars.

Let me know when that budget gets to be over 10% of our own, so I can really panic.

you know who else underestimated the russian military?

RIGHT up to the point where his army lost the Battle of Stalingrad.

I'm not saying now is the time to panic. I'm just saying only a fool or madman would underestimate the russians.

Uh, so how about we avoid invading Russia in Winter (or any other season, for that matter.)

He's more of a puppet actually. Obama can handle him...and the guy pulling his strings.

Haven't you douchetards learned not to underestimate Obama yet? You're in for 8 years of epic butthurt.

The Newsweek before the election had a little snippet in it from O'Rielly, writing about Obama. He said he came into the interview, and answered all of his questions directly without skirting around. He said in the end he left with a newfound respect for him.

He said the other day too that really likes Obama, and that he thinks he's really intelligent.

Come on in right wing. The water's fine.

so, there is actually someone alive in the world that believes medvedev (the man willfully accepted his role as putin's cock holster) is supposed to be the "pitbull" to the "lapdog" of the president elect of the united states of america? the man who out-smarted the clintons and a vietnam war fighter pilot/POW/20+ year seasoned veteran US senator???

please, leave my country. our average IQ will probably rise a full point.

Some people really can't wait for the world to return to the Cold War worldview. I suppose it can be comforting, in a way.

In comparison, I wouldn't say that Medvyedev is a lap dog, but Putin certainly wouldn't have picked him if he was as dominant as Obama is.

Sarah Palin 2008-11-16 04:30:35 AM
Y'know, when Monsir Medvedev called me on the Palin Hotline at 3am, I was going to tell him to ring back in the morning, but then he told me we had spies. You betcha. I was like ok, let's do something about them. So I went hunting with him and we killed a couple of them bastids. They were in Russia and they were Americans, but they weren't even Alaskans. If they weren't spies what were they doing there?

I'll LOL, since Obama is a self-described mutt. Everyone knows that a good mutt will kill a pit bull with brains and reaction speed.

Pit bull tried to maul my old mutt, and it lost.

Sept 12th, 2001 would be my guess.

CurvedGirdle 2008-11-16 05:08:18 AM
Well, an Obama--Putin discussion would probably be a real intellectual battle. Both seem to be able to separate culture/social issues from actual actions (Obama gun/bible nuts comment vs general Russian West--East consciousness). I'd like to see the two hold a press conference or interview---it'd probably be full of the subtle jokery/insults Putin is currently well known for, but this time around the US side will also be fully aware and giving and taking.

I.e. a win.

simsite9:

September 11, 2001.

Okay, not really. They were like that before; they just didn't have a big target to focus on after the Cold War ended.

For all their swagger, jingoism and macho foofaraw, modern American "conservatives" are some of the most fearful people I've encountered.

manduwala 2008-11-16 05:39:37 AM
It'll be interesting to how Putin responds to Obama. After treating Bush as a slightly amusing, spoilt child for 8 years, facing someone he has a modicum of respect for will be a strange experience.

Lionel Mandrake: Haven't you douchetards learned not to underestimate Obama yet? You're in for 8 years of epic butthurt.

OK, I voted for Obama, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. W. has FUBARed things up so much that Obama needs to be Lincoln crossed with Jefferson plus both Roosevelts to hope to get a second term. I'm not trying to flame my fellow farkers, I just don't buy into the warm and fuzzy "New Era" crap. The Palins of the world have a lot of money and they are pissed, and they are not going away...
