Is it a complete and total barf-o-rama?

Thought it was pretty cool, myself.

I saw this on Bill Moyers a couple of weeks ago. Thought it was pretty damn awesome myself, and I wanna see the documentary it's taken from.

What a steaming pile of crap. Next time perhaps they can find a singer who can sing. This one couldn't even speak properly.

I liked the bearded guy from New Orleans. The rest sucked and were pretty pointless.

There has been several vids on the net, along with a multitude of blogs/ blurbs, ect about all humans coming together as one, and sharing in peace, well being, and caring for one another.
With that said, I hope this is the time when all humans come together and just chill out and help each other out. You remember the feeling after 9/11 and when Obama was elected? We can do this, do something good to/for someone and pass it around.
Sorry to be all wordy, just a thought!

They did something similar for the Nagano Olympics. At the opening ceremony choruses from all around the world singing "Ode to Joy" but it was live don't know how they pulled off the problems with satellites delays. It's pretty awesome. And farking CBS had their announcers talk over it and cut to commercial. Like I needed another reason to hate Jim Nance.

Chris did get out. He enrolled in the college courses with me, and, although it was hard, he gutted it out like he always did. He went on to college and eventually became a lawyer. Last week he entered a fast food restaurant. Just ahead of him, two men got into an argument-one of them pulled a knife. Chris, who had always made the best peace, tried to break it up. He was stabbed in the throat. He died almost instantly.

Although I hadn't seen him in more than ten years, I know I'll miss him forever.

I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

RIP River. And thank you Wil, that movie means a lot to me, and I'm glad to know you lost all that weight.

It would have been better if they did GWAR's "Salaminizer". But you can't have everything, I guess.

That was one of the best thing I've seen on the tubes and I've been riding them for years now.

Well done, subby, +7.

I think you just fell for it.

Oh, and it was pretty cool except for the totally pointless tambourine guy.

ChicoEscuela 2008-11-15 02:12:03 PM
Excellent version.

I like Ry Cooder's version from Chicken Skin Music a bit better, but hey, all is good.

sayntfuu 2008-11-15 02:22:41 PM
Now if someone would just do a video edit of the dancing guy with this music we could a worldwide cuddle puddle.

bacallxo 2008-11-15 03:28:49 PM
That was lovely.

Fraggler [TotalFark] 2008-11-15 04:22:47 PM
Excellent.

mfaby 2008-11-15 05:18:24 PM
Cool idea, poorly executed; which figures since it was from that POS
Moyers.

Thought it would be more like that Matt guy, dancing around the
world.

saneyman 2008-11-15 06:09:36 PM

PapaGouda 2008-11-15 06:17:00 PM

too much louisiana... yeah.. katrina sucked WE GET IT!

GAH!!!

INeedAName 2008-11-16 10:14:33 PM
1) All the 'this was crap' people, why do you come into a thread to tell us how much you hated something? Seems a little attention-whorey to me.

2) To the guy assuming NO meant they were trying to link to Katrina - Stand By Me was written by Ben E King when he was with the Drifters. Classic black soul. If you want black soul and blues musicians, where would you go? Helsinki?

3) And why do you care?

El Freak: And here come the liters to take their customary shiat all over the thread.

Some people enjoy singing; some people enjoy raspy-voiced mumbling. Hell, some people enjoy Louis Armstrong, and his voice sounded like he gargled rusty razor blades.

Great jam of a classic...
