And yet, attending a Papa Roach concert remains perfectly legal. Talk about screwed-up legal priorities...

Man, In my days, with put on an onion belt, and go see our favorite band and there was no security whatsoever, bands played on a 2-feet high riser and fought with the audience, who were allowed to drink and smoke.

I miss the old days.

time for my pills now (coughs loudly)

Going to a Papa Roach concert will get you a life of sadness for "shiatty taste in music."

I thought one could get away with murder at their concerts. Guess I was wrong.....

WTF? Papa Roach is still around? Well I can guarantee you that that wouldn't have happened at an Orgy concert. And I know for a fact that Fuel will let you on stage at one of their shows--once you're done with the pie-eating contest of course.

What if it was their last resort?

What if they didn't give a fark if they cut their arm bleeding?

I have a soft spot for Pee-Roach. I live in Sacramento and after Deftones got signed, Papa Roach was pretty much the best local band around. They'd open for all the big bands that came through town (Suicidal Tendencies to name one). They are kinda lame and poser-looking, but they've really grown as musicians and have managed to stay relevant/sell records at a time when very few other rock bands seem to be able to do it. I guess it's kinda sad, but they are one of the biggest selling rock bands of the last 10 years. It's funny because they sell way more than the two more critically acclaimed/respected bands from Sacramento (Deftones and Cake).

/knows P-Roach is from Vacaville

That's an insult to Pantera.

I remember back when they were still rap-metal. Sad to say, I liked them then. That was before I had a high-speed internet connection to discover good bands with.

/Nu metal, Ozzfest, baggy pants, and piercings... those were the days.

This.

I didn't even know Pape Roach was still around.

Check out "Forever"- their last single. Pretty good tune. I'd say they're "still around".

I never thought of Papa Roach as being aggressive. Maybe its just the songs I know from them but off the top of my head I remember stuff about issues with alcoholism, a few love songs, searching for answers in life...

Stuff that makes you feel a bit better when you have a crappy day.

I saw Papa Roach when I was in 7th grade. They were pretty lame live, my 7th-grade self thought.

I have since rushed the stage a few times in my days, but you do that at the end of a punk rock show and everyone does it with you.

/planning to get on stage with Girl Talk tomorrow

Caught them in late 97 in Benicia. Tore the house down and made some asshole in the mosh pit who was beating up 7th graders gtfo. Twas a good show.

/old fart now.

I've never had a problem with Roach. After starting out as a somewhat shiatty rap-rock band, I'd say they've evolved fairly well. Saw them live for the first time three years or so ago and was impressed. Listening to Jacoby do the chorus to "Scars" in spanish was pretty wicked.

And yeah, "Forever" is a damn good song.

Not that I like 'em, but I happened to see Pearl Jam at one of the Lollapalooza shows a million years ago. Some skatekid got up on stage, held his arms up, and dived into the crowd. Evidently the security guys got a bit excited and started kicking his ass. Eddie stopped in the middle of a song, jumped into the crowd and protected the kid. When he got back on stage, he said "Hey, security guys, if he gets past you, makes it up here, and then back down there, he wins and you leave him alone." Hate their music, but always thought a lot of Vedder after that.

Nothing like old school P-Roach shows at the Cattle Club! They have definitely lost some of the edge from 5 Tracks Deep though.
