When Cliff Burton got double deckered, I stopped caring about those tenacious twats.
Also happens to be about the same time I stopped caring about MTV, but within 2 years, no else did either.

So suck it... how dare you give me such bad news.

Wait a second! He's 38? I don't think so: that would mean he was about 10/12 when Kill 'Em All came out!

what the hell is this guy going to build? 5 to 10 year building project.

If I had the money I would build a castle too. You can hate this guy for a lot but castle building isnt one of them. Of course I didnt read the article so I am sure he made a douchey comment.

Not only is this from 2002 - but the actual auction they are talking about is featured in the "Some Kind of Monster" Metallica movie - he didn't get as much as the article suggests.

Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice For All, the Black Album, Live Sh*t, Garage Inc., S&M, and Death Magnetic immediately come to mind.

/okay, some of the songs on Load and ReLoad were a'ight, too
//particularly Fuel....okay, okay, also King Nothing, because it's got that riff from Sanitarium and was what was playing on my ipod when I created my account

I've never heard anything "good" by Metallica.

OK, maybe "Master of Puppets".

Where I come from, "double deckered" connotes something entirely different. Oh wait-that's "upper deckered." Carry on.

Lars was right about downloading music. If it were your band you would be pissed off too.

Of course, your band probably wouldn't be in the middle of one of the biggest sellouts in music history and you probably wouldn't act like a total dick handing in people's names, but you would be pissed off.

Re: Cliff Burton

If Cliff were alive, he would have gotten a haircut and some mall clothes, too.

mfaby 2008-11-14 03:39:00 PM
Yeah, about his age?

Well if he's 38 NOW and started the band in 81 that means he was ELEVEN at the time.

Regardless, no matter how much money he has or who he's farking/married to he's still a piss-poor excuse for a human being.

Popped, my subby cherry is! =)

I don't really hate the guy, though I am a pro-file sharing musician. (looking at putting my first real album together this spring and yes I'd share it free online) Indifferent would be the most apt word. Just whoring a little hyperbole (dude's home is his castle right?) to contribute some lulz on Fark for once.

/link to some of my shiatty demos and live tracks in profile!

I have Metallica downloads.

//had everything else by 1992

ScotterOtter 2008-11-14 05:58:45 PM
For the umpteenth million time, Napster was NOT about free music. They used free downloading to leverage (extort?) themselves to get record companies to use them as a financial gateway for paid downloads. While I do not defend record companies in any way, Lars was right to fight Napster.

/not a Metallica fan
//knows, for a fact, why he is called "8 bars Lars"

I found one of my albums on some German blog, available for download.

I was quite flattered. Downloaded a copy, just because. I hope lots and lots of other people downloaded it, too, and hopefully some of them liked it.

This. It's really sad that an early death is the best possible thing for a musician's reputation.

When "some kind of monster" came out this was shown in the movie, how long ago was that? is he still building the same house, is the same painting he sold in the movie? does St. anger still suck? the answer to all....jes
