(Rolling Stone) Cool The Who's Roger Daltrey, on the last days of Keith Moon: "He wasn't at his best. So it was a very tricky time in that sense. But even Keith Moon at his worst was amazing."   (rollingstone.com) divider line 21

Bet that with the worst hangover and a really bad cold, he could still out-drum the best

Watching footage of this guy play is surreal

I'm just psyched that the`entire concert film will be released.

It would suck playing in a band full of egomaniacs when all eyes went the percussionist but thank gorsh for it. He could keep a beat, do insane fills AND ham it up for the camera all at once.

That dead, dumb, not bland kid sure played a mean four-four.

I read Daltrey was working on bringing the legend of Keith Moon to the big screen....is that still happening?

This is the most recent news I can find. Hopefully Roger will make sure they don't screw it up.

Came here to say that. The Kids are Alright is one of my favorite rock documentaries.

I'd been hoping for a release of this show Link (new window) Charlton 1974, but I'll take any live Who with Keith that I can get.

Best. Band. Evar.

[Charlton 1974]

Man... that Quadrophenia tour...
it must've been a b*tch to play along with all those tapes and stuff.... be perfectly on time, all the time, etc.

still it would've been a great tour to see!!!
[loves me "Quadrophenia"]

/ is it just me, or from the tracks I've heard from "Who Are You"... his drumming on that album wasn't as good as "who's next" or "quadrophenia"...?

Pete, Roger and John remember Keith Moon.

Very interesting at 1:33, when Roger pulls up the vocal and drum tracks to "Behind Blue Eyes" and points out the genius in Keith's playing. I don't quite get what musical point he's making, but his admiration for Keith just really shines through in this clip.

Keith Moon and Mama Cass both died in the same flat, although not at the same time.

/It's true!

The beginning of the end for Keith Moon (new window)

I have a bootleg DVD of The Who at Tanglewood 7/7/70 doing Tommy and Moon is out of this world. He's able to drive the band but he plays some amazing stuff during See Me, Feel Me. What a band they were 1969-1973, easily one of the greatest ever.

I have audio boots of some old shows and they're just amazing. I saw them with Zak on drums and that is as close as I got to seeing the "real" Who

Moon was a hound, Daltrey was (and still is) a beast but gimme some Pete anytime.

I never tire of it.
