Look, Deedee can be annoying sometimes. I totally understand where he's coming from.

A medical examiner killed someone? Still, you can't blame Dexter until some cereal is involved.

They have TV in Canada?

Presumably the guy he killed, killed someone else then. Right?

Couldn't have been Dexter's fault. He was in his laboratory working on his creations.

It must have been Dee Dee.

Gyrfalcon [TotalFark] 2008-11-09 09:20:06 PM
Because there's no other POSSIBLE reason someone would kill another person except he saw a TV show.

He should have said the DA put him up to it

That show is f*cking awesome. I'm watching it tonight in 2.5 hours.

I mixed up my shows for a moment. I was trying to figure out how "Chuck" had inspired a mass murder, seeing as he works as a pseudo-geek squad guy.

Came here to make a reference to the second best show on TV -"Psych" - but Heroic Poser beat me to it.

Unless Dexter stepped out of the TV into our reality and committed murder, I would blame the murderer.

Icon-Cat 2008-11-09 09:39:22 PM
Sadly, I was an online sort-of-acquaintance of this guy.

He seemed very together, gung-ho about his filmmaking, focused. A bit of a braggart maybe but that was it.

Mugato: Unless Dexter stepped out of the TV into our reality and committed murder, I would blame the murderer.

Besides, since Dexter never really gets caught, the TV show should only be blamed for inexplicable disappearances of bad people

Stonerface 2008-11-09 09:41:58 PM
So someone kills another over morality issues and all of a sudden this is Dexter's fault? People have been justifying murdering each other for thousands of years. Just because there's now a tv show based around the morality of that justification doesn't change the fact that some sicko chose to kill someone else themselves.

Last time I checked Dexter only killed murderers. I know there have been two exceptions to that this season but even still he never killed any cheating husbands. This guy was obviously some sociopath who's had lady issues a few too many times. I see no other way you can justify killing someone for being unfaithful.

Then again, I'd bet five bucks he at least mimicked Dexter's method for disposing of the bodies. There's a really convenient river running through the centre of Edmonton that's so brown you'd never find a body in there.

So wait, how is this related to the show except that the guy works for the police? Did they find

FTFA:
witchell was charged at Halloween with the murder of Johnny Brian Altinger who mysteriously disappeared in early October after setting up a date with a woman he had met on the Internet. Police believe he was lured to a garage in Edmonton's Mill Woods neighbourhood expecting a face-to-face encounter with the women he had earlier met on line. He was never seen again.
Although no body has been discovered, police charged Twitchell with murder after seizing a film script in which a male killer lures a cheating husband to his death through an Internet dating scam in which he pretends to be a woman.

Couldn't it have been inspired by...the film script? I mean I'm just going out on a limb here.

\love the show
\\wish I could afford Showtime and not just Netflix

I think you've mixed up Labrador with Northern Alberta. I've spent a lot of time working all over the country in the past few years and the only places I've heard people speak remotely like rednecks is in the boonies in Alberta, although Newfies are pretty close.

/less than 30 000 people in Labrador
//they pretty much all speak French or their native Aboriginal language
///I've actually heard people say "aboot" in the prairies, but only in the areas with a lot of frenchies.

I used to live in Edmonton, and my ex and our daughter still do. The murder rate there is bloody insane in the first place (for a Canadian city that is, i know you Merkins gets all fussed when we think we have alot of murders here) I'm glad i got the hell out of there, and wish the ex would bring our daughter back east. He can then go back out there and get murdered for all i'd care :)
