I don't think suburban kids listen to this band anymore, I believe it is only those that follow trends long after they are no longer trendy. Like the people who still like Evanescence or those that think KoRn are the best band ever still. Those that heard of the trends after the fact and are still holding on because they have not discovered new trends, these are posers of posers, the worst kind, the fat chick that has to shop at that fat hot topic who believes Fallout Boy and Paramore are the next new and amazing thing.

I love both of their albums. Both meaning two.

As far as I'm concerned, M2M never existed.

Hey, I listen to all the bands you just mentioned.
Shoot me.

/If everyone only listened to THE best band out there, life would get a bit dull don't ya think?

Ha! The apostrophe after Linkin somehow makes them much funnier.

I'm still not quite sure when or how Linkin Park became associated with sad emo kids, or angsty music in general. There first album was absolutely gold, blew me to bits when I first heard it, and their second album wasn't bad either.

That said, M2M did pretty much fall flat on its face. I only listened to it briefly but it still didn't seem like the usual 'emo' type fare.

/plus, they get cred for using Dali's farking elephants in a video

hell if you are going to call them Emo cause of one or two songs, then you should also call Megadeth and Metallica Emo as well. They both of some decidedly emo songs

Dear Linkin Park, Please Die very slowly in a Fire. Seriously, no joke.

Your sorry excuse for "music" is atrocious, and just when you think it couldn't get any worse, the whiny biatch of a lead singer opens his or her mouth to sing about the plight of teenage yuppie white kids, and how they are grossly misunderstood by society.

The Linkin Park Pop Music Formula:

1. Quiet intro: Each song has a relatively quiet two-measure intro.

2. The instrumental kicker: The full band come in together on the down-beat, and play two or four high energy measures, usually instrumental.

3. Quiet verse: The song eases off for a verse or two, heightening the dynamic contrast between the song's sections.

4. Heavy chorus: Usually the same chords established in the kicker, with Chester screaming over top for added emotion.

I wish Chester or whatever his or her name is would just go ahead and kill themselves, if you're that much of a whiny middle school angsty biatch, just do it already.

Linkin Park is Nickleback for the emo fag set.

Is it just me, or did all the songs on their last album have a lot of hand-clapping?

Blah blah, more sheep trying to sound cool by talking shiat about [insert band here]. I don't know which is worse, you, or the people you are complaining about. Come back when you can scream for 17 seconds straight like Chester does in "Given Up".

HT was awesome front to back.
Meteora had its moments
M2M was OK in places. "Hands Held High" and "The Little Things Give You Away" are two of their best.

You almost sound like as much of a whiny biatch as he does, just because you have a crush on Chester doesn't mean they have any talent musically. Go put your eyeliner and girls jeans on and cut yourself while listening to Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance

my buddy Spite would call it "The Sad & Angry Song" formula
"I'm so sad, and I whine about because I'm sad,
and that makes me ANGRY !! I'm so ANGRY 'cuz i'm SAD!!
but now i'll whine about being angry, 'cuz being angry makes me sad!"

of course, my buddy opinion as an angry, anti-social person is actually valid, since he is in a nationally-touring punk band, Resilience, which has opened for such groups as The Business, Adicts, Total Chaos, and a bunch of others i can't recall off the top of my head.

here are some of their videos (no RickRolls)
watch their straight-edge lead singer receive 40 minutes of sobriety checks from 3 cops:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRihviOpQAc
watch a SFPD riot cop club somebody 2-handed, just because the cop fell down and felt like taking out his frustrations at the person standing closest to him:

Their first 2 cd's were great imo. They also put on a very good live show. Too bad they suck now.

Yoko Ono can also make extremely irritating noises for extended periods of time. Therefore, she must be really talented.

Came for Maiden - leaving suitable that this thread is full of awesome - Linkin Park bashing, Linkin Park FAN BASHING, And, of course, hailing our lord and master of all that is reality high.

That would be Eddie T. Head.

/25 - their core demographic and I think they're TERRIBLE.
/However, go check out Walking Dead by Chester Bennington their lead singer, the song si really damn good. Which proves the band has talent until they get together.

I meant more "exclusively" and I'm sure you are aware that that music is not the "coolest music ever to exist"

/listens to a large variety of music, some of it awful

Hybrid Theory was a really good album. The mistake came when they released every damn song off it as a single so the whole thing was ruined by MTV Syndrome.

Never bought the other 2 albums, but I still maintain they're a decent band that, to be honest are too uptempo to deserve the 'emo' tag they've been saddled with.

And whatever you think of the band, Chester is a very impressive vocalist.

Ashtrey 2008-11-10 05:48:20 PM
I kinda like them.
