C'mon Norm, go ahead and start filing lawsuits before the 1st count is even done.

I dare ya.

I really hope Al Franken can pull a victory out of this.

Senator Al Franken. I like the sound of that.

Coleman is a douche.

That is all.

He's good enough, he's...

You know what, no. A Stuart Smally reference is not only very obvious in this instance, but almost expected. I'm not going there this time.

I also hope Franken wins. I'm constantly amazed at how many entertainers really do have a head for politics, sometimes better than most politicians, even if I don't necessarily agree with their politics.

If any of you haven't read this book by Franken, read it. It's excellent, very astute, and actually hints at his senatorial run.

I was hoping for Schwarzenegger, if only to make my dream of a Demolition Man like future a reality.

I'm hoping that at least one in ten of the 2300 or so morans who wrote in "Write In" on the ballot are now having their genitalia gently massaged by a bag of hammers.

Bob16 2008-11-08 06:07:36 PM
I thought i read an article about how OReally called into some show totally unglued about the idea that Franken might be a senator.

Been reading so much election related articles lately i can't keep them all straight.

I thought the article said something about how OReally claimed he was gonna move to Ireland if Franken won.

That would really turn Ireland into a shiat-hole.

Well I can see why Mr. Coleman is upset. Votes have a well known liberal bias.

evilboyevil 2008-11-08 06:12:02 PM
So, why do I recognize the name Norm Coleman prior to this year? What the fark made him well-known other than being just another piece of shiat politician?

At least these two are keeping the real tradition of American elections alive.

But the headline doesn't make a lick of sense.

Obviously O'Reilly doesn't know jack about modern Ireland. I don't think he'd enjoy the government there at all.

Some of them. Others need to STFU and GBTW. I think Franken is one of the ones with a good head, though. He would be a good Senator.

Bah! Those filthy liberals are sore losers, always wanting recounts.

ilambiquated 2008-11-08 06:21:38 PM
I was sort of hoping back in 2000 that the mess in FL would inspire America to fix its broken elections.

There's no real rush here, but you would think a Senate race could be better organized.

Rule 1: The candidates have no say in how the election count is organized.

Subby here. The headline refers to the fact that Franken is closing the gap BEFORE the recount. It's down from 500+ to 200 something and suddenly Coleman sees the possibility that he will be down before the recount starts.

Republicans love to mention how wonderful their low business tax is. They kind of fail to mention the whole around 20% VAT tax however.

The shortest distance to a lie is a republican talking about taxes.

The vast majority of the highly educated are atheists.

The vast majority of the highly intelligent are atheists.

One cannot be elected to office in modern America while admitting to being an atheist.

Thus...

We have eliminated the vast majority of highly educated, highly intelligent, honest people from office.

Enjoy!

Now that it looks like Franken might win crooked as hell, Norm Coleman has decided that a recount is a good idea after all

It was an automatic recount wasn't it?

Looking for accuracy at Kos is like looking for a virgin at Mardi Gras.

I think you forgot a premise:

'Its not intelligent to base your conclusions on premises that are sweeping generalizations.'

/I guess your modern American office is waiting for you.

It was an automatic recount indeed, but Coleman called for Franken to concede so as to spare $90,000 to Minnesotan taxpayers. Considering their campaigns totalled $3 millions or so, that's quite the stoopid.

And so are you.

ravenlore [TotalFark] 2008-11-08 06:46:42 PM
This isn't even the mandatory hand recount yet.

What we're doing now is the normal customary canvass prior to certification of the results on Nov 18.

Only the honest atheists have been eliminated and there is no place for the honest in politics anyway, voters reject them consistently in favor of wishful thinking.

Lawnchair 2008-11-08 06:51:15 PM
Coleman pisses me off for the same reason Ted Stevens does. As far as Republicans go, I agree with their policies and positions quite a bit. But, they are both absolute 100% insufferable douches, in a way that even Al Franken would be unable to match.
