Underground caves. So you don't confuse them with those pesky airborne caves.

what a shiatty site. Not worthy of hosting the pics that are (supposedly) awesome. I can't say for sure since I can't actually see any of them...

nashBridges: One of the pictures is of about 10,000 bats camped out on a ceiling. Bats do not like having their photo taken.

Who the fark do they think they are? Do they think they are better than us? Spoilt, inflated-ego sonar sounding bastards. I can do what they do, I've been in a glider. Can they do what I do? Can they type on Fark and make a snarky comment? I think not!

Bat biatches.

As opposed to above ground caves?

Just sayin'...

not Farked, just slow. F5, F5.

cool, new wallpaper for me. I love exploring caves. There's a cool one down near Flagstaff, Az. Can't remember the name of it but last time I was down that way coming home alone I stopped in and did the tour. pretty cool. and DEEP.

Come on. Those paparazzi go into those caves with their flashing cameras and invade the privacy of those bats and for what? Just so this week's trashy tabloids can print pictures of bats minding their own business?

There are most certainly above ground caves, fellers. Like, say, a hollow in a cliff face. I'll allow the headline.

And what is this workplace where a dozen pictures of ass-cracks are not allowed? Cause I'm sure not leaving the daycare I work at now for that kind of place.

Are you talking about the caves or the half-naked chicks?

I've seen people get fired for "discrimination" because a woman was offended that someone had an "asscrack" shot on his desk. Not cool.

Wow adblock plus works. I have seen way closer to NSFW (gungfu) right here in this thread. Not complaining...just saying. The caves were very cool indeed. The huge crystals are way better resolution than I had seen in the past. very cool find subby.

Under water grottos, caverns
Filled with apes
That eat figs,
Stepping on the figs
That the apes
Eat, they crunch.
The apes howl, bare
Their fangs, dance,
Tumble in the
Rushing water,
Musty, wet pelts
Glittering in the blue.

JesterGirl, that one kinda fails to understand the formula of the meme, don't you think?

Try that at home? If I could do that at home, I should consider moving out!

Carlsbad caverns FTW! Too bad there were no captions for the photos explaining where they were. I thought the NSFW was going to refer to suggestive stalagmites that look like body parts. There's one in Carlsbad that looks like a big boobie, nipple and all.

That's gypsum, so I don't think you'll be cutting yourself anytime soon. But yeah, you could have a meter-thick crystal smash your head in.

National geographic just did an article on those. Made the second issue I've bought this year.

Well, I suppose that mountain caves are technically above-ground.

This one is located in Lookout Mountain, GA (just outside of Chattanooga, TN), it is called Ruby Falls (new window) and a water falls usually occupies the shaft (during the dry season the falls are provided a boost with pumped water, at least during operating hours). For something like $15 dollars you can tour Ruby Fall.

Except for that whole mound of earth ABOVE them that makes, you know, the mountain. Hence, they are still, well, under ground.

Anyone know what city that is in the link where the subway is formed as a part of the natural caves? Because that's cool as all hell.
