(Some Guy) Obvious Church on Mornington Street annoys neighbors with bright LED sign, apparently unaware of "Second Prohibition Rule", which prohibits players from declaring proxy in the first three moves or boxing out F, J, O and W. Amateurs   (stratfordgazette.com) divider line 102

You haven't even submitted your slant list, nor have you successfully nullified the Hyde Park unturn, so no.

First shot, and the Dutch already lose. Just like every World War. Pathetic. Even if they own some precious booky-wook.

Headline full of fail. Even the uninitiated know the presence of a Farrington bypass will reverse a proxy prohibition if a cross-conversion has been invoked.

bobroberts: Even the uninitiated know the presence of a Farrington bypass will reverse a proxy prohibition if a cross-conversion has been invoked

Meh. Farrington is indeed a predictable move if you follow the old Egyptian school, but the fourth Lateran convention of scholars in 1922 found a comprehensive refutation of this pyramidic line, by discovering that when the total number of tokens from all players are assimilated in an anti-clockwise direction, the player at Chalk Farm is immediately subject to a storm water penalty.

You should hang your head. I feel bad for pointing out what should be obvious but honestly, I feel embarassed for you.

It's some game for brits^, they play this every farking evening instead of flossing. However, according to Tudor Court Rules, not playing is only permissible if you have obtained an official writ of absentee, but those can only be obtained by receiving an adjudication finding from at least 3 other players that your need to floss in in fact a medical necessity... for either your sake or theirs.

Guys. Guys. According to the Wrexham Invitational precedent set in 1979, Mornington Street must be followed not by Mornington Crossing, but only by a move into Zone 3 Southeast.

Elverson Road is my play as I gain access to the SRImech.

It's British humor. You either get it or you don't, really.

And now for something completely different. "Waiter! My fly was unzipped and out came soup!"

I'm going to play my classic four-in-hand move (that won me the Grand Slam Doubles: Prague, '83) and jump the turnstile at Marble Arch before doubling back along Gospel Oak at the X and Q points.

Oh, just SEE if you can force a bilateral shunt after THAT move, gentlemen.

From the wiki:

The humour of the game, was that while its rules were invoked and argued on the show, they were never explained.

So it's a bit like 4chan, the difference being that it's funny?

That's a bit of an odd play, unless we were playing under the Wexford Convention rule-set and nobody told me. Two-point double-backs weren't established until Wexford in '79, but I was under the impression that unless otherwise specified players observed the one-point double-back limit established by the Mornington Crescent Council a half-century earlier.

Can't we all just get along and play Thornton's 3rd Amendment? At any rate, sliding into Earl's Court would be countered by even the most rank amateur with the obvious lateral to Hammersmith.

If I've accurately parsed Jones and Theewacker's fifth codicil, bumbershoots are permitted, or even encouraged, at Elephant and Castle.

You're forgetting that the implied Barbican would be invalid due to the amended reversal convention. Traditionally Elephant and Castle, crossing into Lancaster Gate is a sound strategy in this situation, but it may be worth a more risky Gants Hill given the style of play we've seen so far.

I went so far as to install the facebook application, but none of my friends have it so it won't let me play. I could invite a few friends, but I'm too frightened of losing face when I resort to quoting wikipedia and citing fark when they ask me what the hell I'm inviting them to do. As a lonely geek's last resort, I suppose I could hack the app into spying on a few games in progress (unfixed bug allows this it seems - possibly therefore not a hack) but alas, I'm busy and lazy.
