He did qualify it by saying she would be up to speed very quickly.

Not that he's right about that, of course....

As a Buddhist, it is my belief that the words that flow easiest and without thought are the truest and closest to your heart.

It is sort of sad that folks feel they need to measure their words on matters like this.

Eagleburger? Sounds delicious and patriotic!

Hang On Voltaire [TotalFark] 2008-11-02 11:19:57 AM
Reminds me of the statement Joe Biden (who is not a Secretary of State from 15 years ago but the Dem nominee for VP) said about Obama:

STEPHANOPOULOS: You were asked, "Is he (Obama) ready?"

You said, "I think he can be ready, but right now I don't believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the- job-training."

BIDEN: I think that - I stand by the statement.

/I am sure Think Progress reported that and noted that no one picked it up

DarkJohnson [TotalFark] 2008-11-02 11:28:47 AM
What a sad old man.

Who even (really) remembered him until recently, I thought he was dead, frankly.

Well good for him, standing up and helping his candidate, probably took a full case of Ensure.

Way to repeat the talking point! Yer a mavrick!

So, do you agree with Eagleburger? Is Palin absolutely not qualified to be president?

no fair, you can't use a deflection against the blocker like that ! He's "reminded" of Biden's true words on cause Eagleburger is wrong !! Yeah, that's it.

Your quote loses something when you remember that Biden was, at the time that he said it, running against Obama, and trying to discredit him. Equate it with Bush successfully reaming McCain in 2000, and endorsing him in 2008.

Plus, the fact that this comment was as "swiftboat" as Biden could get towards Obama is telling.

Standard GOP thread defense!

GOP: The sky is green.

Everybody: Are you serious? What the hell are you talking about?

HOV: The ocean is blue.

Everybody: Dude, what about the sky you were talking about? Are you insane?

HOV: Are you saying that the ocean is not blue? You are quite wrong. I have proof that the ocean is blue.

The different assessment Sen. Biden gave later notwithstanding, don't you think it says a lot of Obama's judgment and character that he picked a former critic as his VP Nominee? The GOP hasn't done that since St. Reagan picked GHW Bush.

it's really funny to hear Democrats dissing Palin when back in 1998, they were so desperate to keep THEIR VP ( Gore ) out of the White House that they were actually defending a president who perjured himself in federal court.

AND THEN.....they SWORE that same man ( Gore ) that THEY didn't trust was all of a sudden ready to be President.

Please......

what a joke.

oh yeah, that one makes him look dreamy - or as though he's dreaming of sucking some tiny, little peener. probably his own.

but, even if he is hung like a small rodent, it is what you do with it that matters. although in this case, the only thing turkeyburger probably does with it is piss down the front of his trousers and over his shoes

Nope, I bailed when Dems thought Mondale was a good choice in '84. I was confirmed when they chose Dukakis in '88.

That said, is says a lot about Dem's and their " concern " about experience when they didn't even trust their own VP Gore ( and all of his grand experience ) to replace Clinton to the point where they actually justified and defended perjury in Federal court just to keep him ( Gore ) out even just ONE YEAR before the next election. I mean if his own friends and Washington insiders who know him best had so little faith in Gore in '98-'99, why would any thoughtful person ( " thoughtful person " being operative here ) feel comfortable voting for him in 2000?

But again, all of this takes a thoughtful and informed person to figure out.

/I wouldn't consider people so inept that they cannot figure out their own ballot very " thoughtful. "
//especially when those voting districts and ballots in question were created and run by Democrats

Got any BALLS to put some money on your prediction?

I am prepared to put 1K on the table to say you're wrong. Are you prepared to put your money where your uneducated opinion is?

I'll wait to hear your answer, but I already know it is no.

Come on, you clearly have a strong opinion. How seriously do you actually believe that drivel and do you have the courage to put up?

If not.....then SHUT UP
