No, not really, desperatemitter.

Look at the averages:

Ohio ^
North Carolina ^
Missouri ^

He took back the lead in Missouri, not Ohio or North Carolina.
Nice try though.

/not really.

He'd still lose the election. That's a comeback?

Forget about McCain.
What you Republicans really want is Sarah Palin as President.

Vote Obama and if he does as bad a job as you believe he will, Palin will be able to win in a landslide in 2008. Maybe she'll even choose your other hero, Joe the Plumber as her running mate.

Wow. Imagine that, Mason-Dixon has all the Republican candidates in the lead (check their NC Senate polls as well). Shocking.

Skail: So, um, why is it that outright lies are constantly getting greenlit?

If they can convince their base that it's close, they are more likely to go vote. I think that's the logic, behind all these "OMG IZ SO CLOSE!" polls, anyway. Of course, that energizes the opposition as well.

As for the modmins, there really aren't any other political stories anyway, as we're pretty much sailing downhill into tuesday.

flixter 2008-11-02 10:26:39 AM
The poll states they asked 625 people. Statistically you need at least 1000 for a good sample.

Republicans! The electoral vote (the vote that matters, not "popularity") is coming down to the wire! McCain is within striking distance:
i21.photobucket.com
He's still behind, but not by very much. Things you can do:
1) Donate to the McCain campaign
2) Donate to the RNC
3) Donate to 527s
Donate as much as you can. Take out a loan if you need to, it'll be worth it. Remember - Obama looked McCain right in the eye and promised to take public financing and then broke his promise! He takes in millions from illegal foreign donations, but you can help McCain fight back!

McCain/Palin '08!
Palin '012!

I've tried to do my part for Barr and talk him up to everyone I meet from Georgia. There's no way in hell he'll take the state, but I'd like to see him pull double digits from the disaffected Republican vote.

A lot of these polls are using numbers collected on Halloween, which is pretty hard to get a representative sample since families are trying to get suzy's cowgirl costume to fit and keep jimmy from feeding chocolate to the dog. Meanwhile old folks are hiding in their houses with the lights off and the door locked.

Occam's Chainsaw: Boy, you must be fun at parties.

I thought I was, but when I went to a Hallowe'en party on Friday dressed as Frankenstein's monster, as soon as I got there, someone jumped up and yelled "Hey! You aren't really Frankenstein's monster! You seem to have employed some kind of get-up in order to make people think that you were Frankenstein's monster when in fact you are not Frankenstein's monster! Truth be told, there is no such thing as Frankenstein's monster!"

I guess I'm not as much fun as that person who pointed that out.

Donald_McRonald: Wasn't talking to you. You were spot-on.

Really, Republicans, what Obama has and McCain doesn't is money, dirty money intended to buy the White House. The only way you can fight back is to give. Give to the RNC. Give to the right-minded 527s that are getting the message out that McCain can't. Give your college funds, your retirement, your savings, because you know that if Obama wins, they'll all be taken away from you. If you can overcome that finance gap, I just know that McCain can wrest the liberal drive-by MSM media from Obama and win the day this Tuesday!

Mason-Dixon is a conservative pollster. Their numbers lean towards the GOP. That doesn't mean they are wrong, it just means they hav a conservative model.

Look at the numbers:

NC: Last poll had a tie
OH: Last poll had McCain up 1
MO: Last poll had MCCain up 1

So that's no change in MO, a little change in NC, and a tiny change in OH.

This is not a comeback. This is just a conservative pollster.

They're pre-spinning this as a closer race than it is, so Tuesday they'll have ammunition to back up the electronic theft of the election by the GOP.

Prove me wrong!

Lord of Allusions: As I told someone last night, it's all about Virginia.

For McCain, maybe. If he loses VA, it'd be basically impossible for him toe win the election. Obama can afford to lose damn near any individual tossup or lean state and still win.

hmmm...from RCP's own electorial map:

Obama/Biden 291

238 Solid 53 Leaning

McCain/Palin 132

118 Solid 14 Leaning

Toss Up 115

115 Toss Up

Now how many do you need to win again?

Control_this [TotalFark] 2008-11-02 11:50:21 AM
If Mason-Dixon would put out some more polls tomorrow and Tuesday, that would just about seal victory for McCain.

PresidentPutz 2008-11-02 11:50:29 AM
Not that it matters since he won't get Pennsylvania, will lose Nevada AND Colorado and is seriously not looking hopeful in Ohio OR Florida (He needs BOTH to have a hope ion hell).

The only thing we, on the socialist left, need to hope for now is that McCain retires from the senate and Palin gets recalled for making Alaska look like the retarded kid at the big folks table.

Someone wanna wipe that drool off her chin?

Because anything with a legible "Fascist" headline is an insta-green.

Try it. Write a Fascist headline and then link to article that completely contradicts your headline and it will go green.

Even at that, Mason-Dixon (who is indeed a GOP-lean pollster) still has Obama in the lead in NV, CO, PA, VA, and FL. This is what a stompin' looks like.
