What article were you reading subby?

Glad to hear that Bush understands McCain's distance. Looks like he's perfectly happy to go out like a lamb.

DamnYankees [TotalFark] 2008-11-02 09:21:36 AM
The headline says "Bush understands Bush Bashing"

No he doesn't. He merely rationalizes it in a self-glorifying way.

FarKnight 2008-11-02 10:33:10 AM
Everything bounces off Bush and sticks to....McCain!

stuffaloosa 2008-11-02 10:38:22 AM
*in my best Bush half-laugh*

Heh heh heh...

Deadhouseplants [TotalFark] 2008-11-02 10:42:06 AM
Um, it's Bush. Shouldn't the headline be along the lines of "I'm rubber, but, what am I?" The headline makes it seem like Bush went through a sentence correctly and in context. Something no one has ever been able to do.

Riche [TotalFark] 2008-11-02 10:46:42 AM
I wonder if Bush is going to do anything... "Interesting" during his lame duck period before Obama takes over.

I mean, why not? It's not as if he has any sort of positive legacy to protect. Nobody's going to impeach him.

Well, if nothing else his list of last minute pardons is going to be a fun read.

/We can always extradite to Europe for war crimes.

How did this headline get rated Fascist?

Anyway, whoever the next president is, he'll have an image problem too. We're looking at a one-termer either way, I just hope things don't get as bad as they were when Jimmy Carter had his chance.

carmody 2008-11-02 10:48:56 AM
Bush looks in the mirror every day, and all he sees is awesome. Same as it ever was and ever shall be.

"President Bush to Obama: I'm a rubber (wrapped around Dick for eight years), you're glue, neener neener," subby

fortunately for us, he's about to split, and hopefully Dick will die soon after

Is "bush bashing" anything like "cock blocking?"

FYI, you clearly haven't been introduced... Article meet Subby. Subby meet article.

FTA:He told the group he understood why so many people had an unfavorable view of him-and his presidency. "I know I have got an image," he said. "I don't live in a cocoon."

No, but Dick Cheney lives in a life sustaining stasis booth.

I think Bush's trouble is that he has made the illogical leap from "Sometimes the right thing isn't the popular thing" to "The unpopular thing is the right thing".

A president shouldn't be a slave to the polls but in a democracy you have to respond to the concerns of the public and not dismiss them in favor of a personal agenda.

Oh yeah. The yet-to-be-determined imaginary Repub candidate is going to destroy Obama in '12.

/Democrats for at least the next 24 years.

Knock knock..."Civilian National Security Force, OPEN UP IMMEDIATELY!"

if you want to wager that civil liberties will be eroded more by obama than bush, i'd be happy to take some of that

Wow. Talk about living an Unexamined Life. The entire point of that article was that Bush knows he's a douchebag, but just doesn't care. One imagines that the same observation could be made of NYZooMan.

Hat Madder: I just hope things don't get as bad as they were when Jimmy Carter had his chance.

I have a sneaking suspicion that big business will do its best to sandbag Obama.

Not to punish us for voting incorrectly, but to "prove" that democrats can't handle the economy.

I hope my tinfoil is just too tight at the moment.

That isn't Bush's line of thinking at all. It's more like "Who gives a fark what anyone else thinks as long as I get mine and I placate just enough people to keep my ass from getting handed to me. The idiot proles still love me, anyway"

kth [TotalFark] 2008-11-02 11:29:36 AM
It helps that he can't understand the big words that Obama uses.

gol-darned elitamist.

Whatever.

carmody: Bush looks in the mirror every day, and all he sees is awesome. Same as it ever was and ever shall be.

That's what bothers me most about the guy. If he had any sense of reality to go along with his self awareness, it means that he would, at some point in his life, realize what a disaster he's been to this nation and the pain he's brought to others and possibly develop some remorse about it.

From the looks of it, the best we can hope for is that the only justice he'll experience for his actions will be meted out in the afterlife. Meh.

He's shoveled about 2.5 trillion to his cronies already. I expect the whitehouse furniture and landscaping will go next.

Your beloved Bushie's "Homeland Security Force" doesn't knock. It tap taps.

There was nothing whatsoever about Obama in that article. It was about Bush being left behind and mostly ignored in the McCain campaign. I don't think submitter read the article...

You know who else had the Southern style of being quick-witted with a slow delivery?

Larry 'Lonesome' Rhodes, that's who.

I just saw that last night on TCM and, having weighed it and measured it, found it most worthy.

Bush has been a pretty disastrous president, but I think he is a pretty likable guy. He essentially ruined the Republican party in the short to mid term, we'll see how it goes in the long term. I've always seen Bush as a good natured rube who doesn't really belong in the positions he has held.

TFA: The same air of self-confident resolve staggering inability to self-assess and reflect...that allowed Bush to claim, during the 2004 campaign, that he could not name a single mistake he had made as president, now girds him in his final, difficult and somewhat lonely months in the White House.

Fixed that for the author.

LOLWUT? don't you mean slow-witted with a quick delivery?
As in; "fool 'em and ya can't git fooled agin."
delivered that line very quickly to hide his slow-wittedness.

Bush has been a pretty disastrous president, but I think he is a pretty likable guy.(quite clearly a case of stockholm syndrome)

don't think for one second that his last months or his
retardation-oops-sorry-retirement are going to be lonely.
he's always surrounded himself with sycophants who made
him their gootse-oops-scapegoat.
