which district(s) is this hitting - repub or dem? i have a guess, but i don't want to jump to conclusions.

This is so absurdly easy to track. We need to prosecute these assholes to the fullest extent of the law.

Knight without armor 2008-11-01 07:29:10 PM
Well, who on earth could be doing this?

Could the fact that over 1 million voters are registered in Broward County (new voters are mostly dems and independents; dem make up over half of the county's registered voters). With an increase in 17% of dem voters (and only 6% republican voters) who has reason to make such calls?
Link (new window)

Could it be republicans?
Take a look at the nice sign in their Broward County office comparing Obama to Karl Marx and Fidel Castro.
Link (new window)

Think the govmint'll track down these calls? Naw, need to keep tapping US military calls from overseas to see what Col. is screwing who's wife.

I just flew back from Manchester, UK today and I was asked numerous times in the past few days from locals about the election. They were pretty shocked that I was sick of it and couldn't wait for it to be over. It's because of shiat like this.

That's almost as good as the "due to anticipated large crowds, Republicans will vote on Tueday and Democrats on Wednesday" rumors.

And by "good" I mean "reprehensible"

This sounds very Democratic party to me, ACORN anyone? And while they are tyring to stop Republicans from voting, they are out getting as many illegals to vote as they can.

Because the Democrats need the illegals to vote them into office so they can further trash the constitution and laws so they can have ultimate power and turn us further into a nanny state.
You know that with Obamas' ties to ACORN, and the terrible voter fraud that's being perpetrated in near every state now by them, that he's going to win.

I almost want him to win now so that the dems' see just what kind of trash they're going to put into office, and what they're going to do to us all.
He's all for HOPE and CHANGE!!! and they're going to see exactly what kind of change he's going to make when he takes the office, and he's going to CHANGE allright.... change his position from what he's promising in the campaign, to what he's ACTUALLY going to do. (I know just about every politician does this, but I think Obama is even worse than all the rest in that regard)

The voters are going to get EXACTLY what they deserve if Obama gets into the presidency, and the rest of us are going to get screwed.
I think there will be another civil war if Obama gets control of executive and legislative branches, and does what he REALLY wants to do (but says he's not going to, and his past history has shown what he HAS done).

Yeah. For me it's kind of like Election Derangement Syndrome. You hear enough crap, and you want to get out to vote and stop this shiat, but at some point, it just becomes exhausting.

I don't have a way to research this on a Saturday night -- but there *must* be a federal law making it a crime to interfere with a national election.

Wow. Should've seen all this coming the instant the ACORN bullcrap started. It fits the pattern... whatever McCain/Rove/Bush accuse the Democrats of, they're actually doing. Ten times worse.

I'll now pretend to be shocked as the media who are totally in the tank for Obama and biased against McCain give this zero coverage while continuing to tell everyone about the investigations into ACORN.

Reminds me of the McCain supporter/pundit guy in a CNN interview who couldn't name someone Obama pals around with (other than the stupid Ayers accusation) and instead just tried to say "I think everyone knows who I'm talking about." ahahaha.

This is something I think needs to be cleared up even further. ACORN was helping people to submit registrations. ACORN doesn't actually register people.

The Secretary of State registers people.

This lie, this myth of ACORN being a cog in the "vast left wing conspiracy" is absolutely sickening to me, as it shows instantly that the speaker is purely void of any substance. Those that, come 11/5, will cry "ACORN came and took my 'lection!" are the very people that allowed Karl Rove's group of thugs to hijack a once noble party.

There is a reason why I say this. ACORN did not set an institutional policy of committing voter fraud. Instead, they decided that the best way to register new voters was to pay canvassers by the registration. This means that the lowest paid ACORN employees had financial incentive to create phony voter registration cards.

Once handed into ACORN, the organization was legally bound to turn in all registration cards that they received. Instead of mixing them into the legitimate registrations in an attempt to sneak a few by, they set the potentially fraudulent registrations aside and informed the local Boards of Elections of their questionable nature.

Even if they had NOT done so, fraudulent registrations could not have conceivably altered the results of an election, because VOTES count, not registrations. In order to alter an election, "Mickey Mouse" must show up to the polls, present valid photo ID, cast a ballot, and repeat this process UP TO 50,000 TIMES PER TARGETED STATE.

The real concern is not "voter fraud," which has not altered an election in nearly 100 years, but "election fraud," which is carried out on the tabulation side of the polls. I'm no tin-foil-hat-wearer who insists that the 2000 and 2004 elections WERE stolen, however, I recognize that the possibility for election fraud is very real and very threatening.

To demonstrate this, I will take you back to Ohio, circa 2004. The new, electronic voting machines were created by a third party corporation. The Federal Government, which mandated the use of those machines, had no oversight of their design or their programming. This created the possibility of deliberately faulty voting machines, which could have altered the election results.

Those voting machines reported in to tabulation machines at the County level via the internet. These tabulation machines, likewise, were not overseen by the Government, thus creating the same concern.

Those tabulation machines then reported the results from their counties to a server run by a small corporation. That server could well have modified the results from each county before sending the information to the Ohio Secretary of State's office.

These same weaknesses exist in many "battleground" states this year.

Worry not about ACORN, but instead fret over DIEBOLD.

/monologue

I'm a Democrat, but there comes a point where you have to not be a complete retard in order to deserve a vote. And anyone who thinks they can vote by phone falls on the wrong side of the line.
