WorldCitizen: McBatt: WorldCitizen: I've always wondered about this though. How do they verify that it's a world leader on the phone? Even here, how often does the US President call someone and then have to spend time trying to convince them that it's really the president?

caller ID. No, really!

So political leaders at all times have on them a list of all legit phone numbers from which other world leaders might call them? I can see that of a president as they have that huge staff with them at all times and have all the resources of all the years of the office of the presidency to develop them. But do VP candidates have all of this same information with them at all times?

He didn't try that shiat on Joe the Senator!!

McCain for five years didn't have the benefit of having a running mate that was stupid enough to be tricked by a tacky french accent.

Preston Preston: Mordant: Figures all you libs would stand by and laugh as her first amendment rights are trampled like this.

Some people just aren't cut out for logic. You are clearly one of them. Read this, then explain exactly how her first amendment rights were violated. By a couple of Canadians.

You've got a real case of industrial strength stupid going on there, son. I can see why you're so defensive. Birds of a feather, and all that.

This comment must be pretty embarrassing for you. I'm going to go ahead and quote it to make sure it gets full exposure.

Nogale 2008-11-01 09:42:26 PM
This was so bad that at points I figured she HAD to know it was a prank but was playing along, SNL-style.

Then I heard her frantically conferring with her staffers after the radio guys told her she'd been pranked.

I don't know which is more astounding - her stupidity or her ignorance.

xebeche_tzu 2008-11-01 09:43:23 PM
You need more proof that conservatives are treasonous?

They want HER in the oval office. Yikes.

Dafatone 2008-11-01 09:50:07 PM
This can't be real.

I mean, Palin's terrible, I'm shocked that she's able to shock me more with her stupidity.

But this CAN'T be real.

Can it?

10/10, given Palin's recent statements about the 1st ammendment.

Yes, and he said it in a thread that went to the main page, where there are sure to be Farkers who don't pay a whole lot of attention to current developments in politics. For that sort of strategery...

this is like the biggest troll evar.

either that or you guys are so damn stupid to believe that palin would talk to canadians that don't matter on the radio. and especially considering how easily it is to get someone who is an impersonator to call in or receive the call...

you guys all get a big huge fail tag.

So someone convinced Palin she was talking to Sarkozy for 6 minutes. Big whoop. Someone's managed to convince Obama he can make a difference for the next four years.

/good luck with that

I'm still wondering what first amendment right protects you from getting prank called?

Is it against her religion? Were the DJs a US government entity? No?

mmarteen: Not to be all partisan and all, but I just can't picture Obama or Biden falling for this.

Actually I can imagine Biden falling for this. He gets punked by real questions all the time.

And for the person who was laughing about the Prime Minister of Quebec--from Wikipedia:

"The Premier of Quebec (in French Premier ministre du Québec, sometimes literally translated as Prime Minister of Quebec) is the first minister for the Canadian province of Quebec."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_of_Quebec

A premier is not the same as a prime minister. A province's premier is the equivalent to a state governor, like Sarah Palin for instance.

I am now beginning to think that the McCain campaign is being run by undercover Dems. There is no farkin way these people are that stupid.

I've been thinking for a while that Obama has strategically placed moles in the McCain campaign. Obama has a habit of announcing what McCain is about to do, a couple days prior.

Also think it's possible Sarah wore that Donkey-Vote scarf on purpose. Before she was nominated, she said some positive things about Obama, and she hasn't seemed too pleased with the campaign she is in, of late.

She sounds like a nice lady on the phone, but also a dimwit.

That prank was so unbelievably bad that I was cringing. I kept waiting for her to say "wait, are you for real?"

The only point where it seemed "real" was when Sarkozy wasn't on the line right away. But the Sarkozy voice turned out to be sillier than Sarkozy's "assistant"'s voice.

The real idiot is Palin's assistant, who didn't screen the call at all evidently.

What the hell was going on with her staff?

Were they expecting a call from Sarkozy? Do they really just hand her the phone that easily?

Holy crap. Or merde I suppose. This is real? Palin better hope she can land a job as a tv host after this cause her political career is over.

Can you imagine the practical jokes Putin and Chavez would play on her if McCain croaked?

Actually on second thought don't think about that.
