No donuts for absentee ballots? Sad...

Don't even have a Krispy Kreme on Oahu? Double sad...

:(

Stoj [TotalFark] 2008-10-29 07:10:27 PM
Don't you guys worry - when Obama is elected, he's taking all of those donuts from those making $250,000 a year and giving them to... the people just a little worse off than you.

I'm very sorry.

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2008-10-29 07:10:33 PM
And of course I early voted on the 25th. The shirt hasn't been washed yet though so I may try to find the damn sticker.

Judging from the weight of the poor in this country he should do the opposite. Fat ass people need to stop eating crap.

Jebus, you don't understand ANYTHING about the Obama plan! He's only taking the farking maple bars and crullers from those making $250k per year, and people who get by on classic glazed get a free donut with every dozen.

Farking LEARN IT or GTFO!

Some jelly-filled win there.

Is Obama going to bring Krispy Kreme back to suburban Boston? First they closed the store in Medford. Then they stopped selling them in the supermarket. I miss those sugar pills.

Did you hear the about the time Obama spoke to a hungry crowd and asked if anybody had food to share? There were only five Krispy Kremes and two leaves of arugula. He blessed them, and handed them to his campaign staff to pass around, and somehow everybody in the crowd left with full stomachs.

Not to mention that there aren't many Krispy Kremes in Oregon.

Ah well, my son went to an Ed Forman show in Portland yesterday with some friends & they made a stop at Voo Doo Doughnuts. He brought me 2 of their bacon maple bars. Mmmmmm!

Yeah, for some reason they just don't like it here.

There was one here in Salem for a long time, but they closed down because the owner of the building wanted them out (he wanted to get Radio Shack in there). Radio Shack took another lot, and now a mom and pop donut shop is in there.

Irony tastes good with coffee.

You're in Huntsville, right? I thought AL didn't have early voting, did I miss something? Or were you referring to absentee?

Jubeebee 2008-10-29 08:55:51 PM
Every ONE who votes, or every TIME you vote?

Because I can see this putting some Chicago area franchises out of business.

Yah, except I'm a college student. My home is still Tennessee, which does have early voting.

BFD. Walk into any Krispy Kreme and they will always hand you a doughnut. Nasty little heart-attack inducing rings of deep-fried icing covered golden deliciousness.

BTW-If you're ever in the Eugene area & are in the mood for donuts, Cal's Donuts & Pastry is the best around.

They might want to look into the legality of this first. There were a few Subway franchisees in California that got in trouble for handing out free sandwiches to voters in 1992.

Fark you, bourgeois pastry makers! The people are seizing the means of production... of donuts! Sprinkles to the people!

One of the best things about Huntsville is we have a Krispy Kreme. Dunkin tried but those baked goods couldn't compete with Krispy Kreme's deep fried glazed goodness, I will get my doughnut and save it to eat hopefully in victory.

As my future state governor Sir Charles Barkley said: "Krispy Kreme is my crack."

dopirt 2008-10-29 11:19:40 PM
The name "Krispy Kreme" freaks me out. I dig the Kreme part, but how does Krispy figure in. Pillowy I'd dig, Krispy not so much.

And thus democracy dies, with a whimper not a bang...

and its face covered with frosting and rainbow sprinkles...

lying in a pool of mocha frappuccino, full of remorse...

having accidentally voted for Ron Paul.

Krispy Kreme Do-nuts: (They're poison.)

Just to be safe, you should hire a non-citizen to vote for you on Election Day.

I'll buy your mail-in ballots for $5 each. Then you can buy your own pastries.

Just kidding. That would constitute a felony.

Actaully Ben & Jerry's was planning a similar thing. A free scoop for voting. But they have modified the deal now to a free scoop for everyone between 5pm-8pm election day.

Fat lot of good that does me, nearest Krispy Kreme store is a half-hour away.

/still voting, despite the distinct lack of free donuts for me

maxheck 2008-10-29 11:38:48 PM
Sheesh... I've been sticking my "I Voted" stickers on the side of CD case for years.

I'll sell you one for a dollar... I have plenty if I can separate them from the even-more numerous "I gave blood today" stickers, which are good at Chick-Fil-A.

They have different appeals; a good Dunkin donut is more of a cakey snack (especially a powdered sugar one.. mm)

But a warm, right off the rack krispy kreme donut... mmmmmmmmm

/may go get a dozen right now
//usually eats 3 before leaving the parking lot

Yeah, just like dope, the first taste is always free. Then you end up in rehab, going to Donuts Anonymous meetings, your wife is checking the corners of your mouth for white powder, your friends won't give you money because you'll end up at a Tim Horton's somewhere in a insulin shock coma....
