Cue those that say they know how to play a real guitar, and are somehow threatened by people with a fake guitar having fun.

I couldn't hear much of anything. Everything sounded so incoherent. Now I remember why I never got into the concert scene. Raves are way much better in terms of the clarity of sound, and the sheer entertainment value. I just never understood why someone would pay to go see a show, when the artists music sounds better on cd. Where as with techno music, the live performance are ALWAYS more better than what you get on cd.

Very nice lick at 3:17. The rest of the song is kind of boring though :-\

Big SP fan here. Pretty good song compared to most of Zeitgeist, but I get tired of the "heavy riff, then stop and sing, then heavy riff" routine that Corgan seems so fond of recently.

Guitar Hero: World Tour is a piece of shiat. It seems like Neversoft's QA staff is comprised of chimps.

I am pissed that I forked out $60 for the game only, and I'm glad I didn't buy any of the peripherals. What a POS game.

Stick with Rockband 2 if you have it.

I'd offer you a bigger brush, but the one you are using seems to be rather substantial.

/that's enough, Billy Corgan

I got GHWT on Sunday. My friends and I have been playing it pretty much non-stop since then. In my opinion it's the best music video game yet. Perhaps you'd care to explain why GHWT is so horrible?

Wasnt he last week talking shiat about this game, saying he doesnt need to play it cuz he can do the same thing on a real guitar? What a dick

Have you ever been to a proper live show, as opposed to hearing one recorded on a shiatty hand-held camera or a cellphone?

Subtle my fat white irish import ass. Crowbaring is more like it.

G.H. is some great flamewar bait though. Either way, bring it on.

If you had better taste in music, you'd go see some musicians with actual ability.

The reason people gripe about how artists sound live is because you guys like sh---y music.

Bass is pretty hard to screw up in terms of "clarity". You can hear it through concrete walls ffs.

In my eyes, Rock Band 2 has a better on-disc track list (with more songs that are fun on drums and vocals), it's got a much bigger library to draw from with the Rock Band 1 tracks and all of the existing DLC, and the career mode is structured much better, instead of "here's a set list of a handful of songs that might be similar."

Guitar Hero is harder, sure, but unless you're a pro at the game that's not necessarily a good thing. The vocals are particularly nasty. Admittedly, my friends and I aren't exactly good at singing, but with five or six people trying the best score we could manage was to just barely crack 80%...on Medium, on songs we already knew the words to.

Also, a big deal breaker: despite promises to the contrary, the GHWT drum set doesn't seem to work with Rock Band or Rock Band 2 on the PS3. Since we didn't have the drum set for Rock Band before because the GHWT instruments were supposed to be better, this was a letdown.

So far, I'm having more fun with Rock Band 2 than I am with World Tour, and that's without the drums in RB2. It's a matter of opinion, but so far I'd give the crown to Rock Band. Again.

live performances in techno music? Isn't that like an oxymoron or something?

You're obviously not a musician and don't really understand music.

Former SP fan here. When is Billy going to stop writing the same songs over and over?

i'd like to criticize him, but my band ALSO steals the 'now i wanna be your dog' rif.

After last weekend, Billy Corgan is dead to me.

Back in the day I was all about SP (still have the same username from when I was 15) - but I started gradually getting pissed with them from Adore onward. Zwan wasn't half bad, but then Zeigeist came out and the crap train kept on rolling.

So cue last weekend at the Bridge School Benefit. SP is the band I'm looking forward to the most. Then they come out and proceed to muddle through 5 news song - 5 boring, meandering new songs. With only one song left Billy says he's going to play an old one (great!) and bring out someone to sing it. Who does he bring out? JOSH farking GROBAN - who proceeds to kill Disarm and even forget the lyrics.

Josh Groban....screw you Billy

Yeah, former big huge SP fan here too. Saw them multiple times back in the day, including once right before Jimmy and the keyboard player OD'd. I would happily go out and buy all kinds of crazy imports for just a couple of new songs.
Their last album I didn't even bother with and when I saw them back in August I saw how far they'd fallen. The new stuff sucks.

That's strange. I bought GH:WT on Sunday and have been enjoying playing it all week. This from someone who hadn't played any of his GH games in months but his RB1 and RB2 discs rarely leave the tray.

GH:WT is not as polished or good as RB2. This, I can agree with. But if you are a fan of rhythm games, there is absolutely zero reason to not have GH:WT and RB2.

I will say though...It appears GH laid up on the difficulty this time (which is a good thing) while HMX went a shade more difficult with this itteration of RB. I think RB2 is slightly more difficult than GH:WT.

My opinion is based solely on the guitar portion of the game.

Oh, and I bought a Fender on Sunday too (a real one that is). I realize now why it is just easier to play the plastic guitar. Yeah, real guitars are great, but it could take months before I can do anything worth while with it. Video game...pop in and you are good.

Nitpick: bass is hard to screw up in terms of "audibility", but easy to screw up in terms of "clarity". It's pretty easy to create a sound mix that only provides a wall-shaking mass of muddy bass sounds.

Probably because I like electric guitars and not kids with candy bracelets dancing with glow sticks.
