I never thought I'd see Angus in a besequinned outfit.

I would hope their actual touring set list would be longer than thirteen songs. I know they're geezers and all, but they can surely play longer than that, especially with their catalog.

I saw 'em in 2001 in Little Rock (bought a ticket from a scalper for under book) and 2003 in Toronto. Wish I had seen 'em in their heyday.

i remember seeing AC/DC performing on live TV, thinking those 2 guys whose names I don't know look about as close to actual decayed flesh eating zombies as i will ever see.

/that was in 1998

Looks like a solid hour of kick ass rock and roll to me. Granted, those are the recorded times, but I know from having seen AC/DC before that they will do extended versions of certain songs and usually throw in a few covers as well..... not to mention the guitar solos, the bass solo, the drum solo, etc....

That's a 90-minute show, at least, and Angus is non-stop flying around the stage the entire show, except for the individual solos when he goes behind his off-stage amp rig and receives oxygen. Hell, I know twenty-something year-old so-called shredders that can't do that.

/And they work the individual solos very nicely into the set, not a bunch of useless wanking off
//except for Angus's solo
///that's what everyone came to see, really

And what's even cooler is that they are retiring after this tour, for real they say. They sure in hell don't need the money.

bonus slashie: /though Hell ain't a bad place to be

Interesting that Black Ice is song 9, between TNT and Whole Lotta Rosie. Haven't heard the new album yet, I get the feeling it is more of the same.

That would be a good thing.

Oh, and this was a pre-tour promotional show, with some fine tuning of the show before an invited audience. I would not be surprised if another few songs make it into the real show. I doubt they need to practice much.

I noticed the Hokey Pokey curiously absent from the song list.

I think maybe the bottom six are "stick these in if one of the new songs in the list doesn't work out." Sometimes if a band plays a new song and the audience is like "meh" they'll replace it with another one later on in the tour.

/seeing them 11/15 in DC \m/

CarnySaur 2008-10-28 09:13:47 AM
But how many of those songs will they encourage the audience to sing the verses to because they can no longer hit the high notes?

Interesting that Black Ice is song 9

Their first show is tonight in Wilkes-Barre PA. I think the people driving there might get to experience a whole lot of black ice tonight thanks to the weather.

In a hail of faux-cannon shots and fireballs

That means they're playing on the same stage they have been using since the For Those About to Rock tour.
