WOW. That's a terrible idea.

What a shiatty idea.

Anyone still willing to see Zeppelin like that must have a Whole Lotta Love for the band. This may be their Coda. I never got to see then play live; by the time I could appreciate music, they were Ten Years Gone. I'd stand in line in the weather for tickets, even if it made me a Fool in the Rain, even if it meant Going to California. Perhaps this will keep them from touring, and I can understand that a Zeppelin tour straddles the line of What Is and What Should Never Be.

John Paul Jones [TotalFark] 2008-10-27 04:52:15 PM
Should be Chris Robinson.

dj_bigbird [TotalFark] 2008-10-27 04:52:25 PM
This sucks more than anything that has sucked before.

CrankMyBlueSax 2008-10-27 04:56:23 PM
The suck power on this idea is greater than that of the McCain campaign.

Danielsan [recently expired TotalFark] 2008-10-27 04:58:13 PM
I don't think it's such a bad idea. They need someone with stage presence, and who can hit all those high notes.

Who else could they use? Sammy Hagar?

David Coverdale has to be so angry he can barely finish his shift at Jiffy Lube.

That's crazy...like screwball...no, no...like bat's in the belfry...no, that's not it. Lost their marbles?? Gone fishing?? No. What's that term I'm looking for??

Steven Tyler is a reincarnation of one of Robert Plant's public hairs.

steveo 2008-10-27 05:14:53 PM
Yeah, this is a poor choice. Page has worked with better vocalists who've clearly shown more love for Zep, like Puff Daddy for instance.

coyote71 2008-10-27 05:15:59 PM
marcpen: Steven Tyler is a reincarnation of one of Robert Plant's public hairs.

And Joe Perry is a reincarnation of one of Jimmy Page's private hairs.

ugh. tyler is bad enough in his own band, why would he try and fark up one that is/was actually good

Earguy [TotalFark] 2008-10-27 05:22:20 PM
I will no longer believe any Zeppelin reports until they hold a press conference.

Hollywood Cole [TotalFark] 2008-10-27 05:32:19 PM
For those interested in seeing a good Led Zeppelin cover band may I suggest NO QUARTER (new window) out of Seattle.

Very good.

cretinbob [TotalFark] 2008-10-27 05:42:37 PM
Hope you didn't buy tickets already

BobtheFascist 2008-10-27 05:46:49 PM
So instead of "baby, baby, baby, baby" it'll be "kikikikikikikikikikikiki-kow-kow-kow".

bales [TotalFark] 2008-10-27 05:48:29 PM
well, it'll keep ticket prices down at least.

dillenger69 [TotalFark] 2008-10-27 05:57:14 PM
Well ... a Zepplin is a kind of Aero-ship so it's all good.

beve [TotalFark] 2008-10-27 06:01:09 PM
I saw Aerosmith about ten years ago, and even then the majority of the vocals were NOT live.

NightOwl2255 2008-10-27 06:20:32 PM
Let's get this clear, no Plant, no Zeppelin. They can call it what ever they want, but if Plant ain't singing, it ain't Zeppelin.

Hell, let's put Elton John in front of The Rolling Stones!

Some lead singers can be replaced, and some can't. Plant was not just a singer, his voice is an instrument.

Whole Lotta Love in an Elevator?

InmanRoshi 2008-10-27 08:06:53 PM
Some bands just aren't cut out for the shameless reunion cash-grab. Bands that were iconic symbols and personifications of youthful energy and sexual virility just seem sad as sixty something boomers trying to squeeze the flabby old man arse into the tight pants one last time. Led Zepplin is one of those bands. Plant is right ... leave it in the past. Don't tarnish the memory of how glorious it once was. I don't need to see Mohammed Ali shadowboxing with Parkinson's. Just keep harmonizing with Allison Kraus so no one will notice how haggard, withered and shot the voice is.

I am also in the "no" camp but if someone said you could play with Led Zeppelin on a tour what would you do?

I imagine Steven Tyler didn't have to think about it too long. It may not be a good idea, but I'm sure it pressed his buttons hard.

Well, that might be the only choice that keeps me away. I would go to see Chris do it, but I would still be bitter that it's not Bob. I understand why he's hesitant, but, really, would five US shows be so bad? I don't expect 27-year-old Plant; I just want to see even the remnants of what I was too young to have seen at all before.

This would be an excellent idea! Because I hate Zep.

I like Tyler. Always hated Plant's voice. Reminds me of a cat with it's nuts in a vice and a chinese cook grinning at it. Will go, though. Never saw them in the day 'cause I was in the "The Who" camp.

When I went to school you liked Zep or The Who and that was that.

/old fart now

I would say that article is as real as wrasslin'.

Imagine if Paul Rodgers was Free and could Firm up a deal that would be Radioactive, it would be King of All Horses but he's Under Pressure to work with Queen cause they're his best friend. No Satisfaction Guaranteed. Mean Business.
