I was wondering exactly how one would fire crackers from one's head.

mrswelborne 2008-10-26 09:41:09 PM
So let me get this straight. He disrobed, lit a pack of firecrackers, put them in a helmet and then on his head????? Wouldn't it have been much easier to simply load a gun then point and shoot?

This is even weirder than the headline suggests:

1. He was apparently uninjured.
2. They arrested him.
3. He made bail.

How do you make bail? Do you stuff bail money (and ID) in your helmet with your firecrackers? How do you do this without hurting yourself?

Unless, like me, they are US citizens. :-) But I didn't go running amok in Mt Isah with fire crackers shooting from my bike helmet, so don't worry...

There's not a helluva lot to do for entertainment in Mt Isah - sounds to me like this guy could be mayor, with that kinda out-of-the-box thinking...

Are you talking to me? Do you not know that Mt Isa is surrounded by birds, water buffalo and crocodiles? Or do you think that it floats somewhere in outer space?

hahahaha, are you shiatting me? Water buffalo, in MOUNT ISA? Where, pray tell, would I be finding these? Ploughing all the rice paddy fields?

I was born there and spent 24 of my 27 years in that town and never once did I see a water buffalo. Plenty of beef cattle, though.

Oh, and yes there are crocodiles -- but freshwater crocs. Smaller and less aggressive than the saltwater ones.

lyndsayj 2008-10-27 03:39:22 AM
Seems to me Mount Isa keeps getting media attention for all the wrong reasons. Mayor makes stupid comments about ugly women, lead contamination scares, now this. Oy.

/is glad she left and went to Tamworth
//yeehaw!

Here the judge grants you bail if he/she so chooses, it's not something you get after you cough up some money.

I am deeply saddened by the lack of video of this. If a guy's going to put his own health at risk for public amusement, there should at least be a video of it up on the internet.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the term "SURROUNDED BY". I did not say there were water buffalo and/or crocodiles IN Mt Isa, I said it was SURROUNDED by a whole lot of NOTHING, unless you include those critters. There are water buffalo and crocodiles and birds in the SURROUNDING LAND AROUND Mt Isa. Geddit?

/sheesh! Some Aussies are a little slow on the uptake - must be from being born in Mt Isa (I keed, I keed!)
