There's a store a few blocks away from me that sells beefy tees for $2 each. But without the clever sayings. Must be why they're so cheap.

Buy coke, cut it, slang that shiat for a profit. Buy more coke with your profits, cut it, resell that shiat. Continue until you're a millionaire and/or are having a gun battle from behind a mountain of coke.

Now if he'd have act actually provided sound advice.. like cash out all your stock 30 days ago, put it in a 12 or 13 month CD, then re-invest, he might have an article worth reading.

Right now? His words are of less value then the mumble words a one year old makes...

"Get-rich-quick" schemes are usually just that - schemes.

so, erm... systematic plans to achieve something? How did whoever wrote this get a basic English qualification, let alone a job as a journaist?

xria 2008-10-26 04:01:39 PM
Unless you are very old, shouldn't a million be very much a standard amount to have when you retire - factoring in inflation, longer lifespans, economic growth, and ignoring any risk of total apocalypse (financial or literal), etc.

You forgot the part where the debt magically disappears for no reason!

/seriously, neither McCain nor Obama will get a tax cut through when the gov't is already so far in the red.

4 steps to retire a millionaire.

1. Get shotgun.
2. Get shovel.
3. Take millionaire out behind shed.
4. You get the idea.

/Ohhhhh. Retire as a millionaire.
//Whistles, walks nonchalantly away from mound behind shed.
///Runs.

Reminds me of a freakonomics post on this subject (new window):

... Jose Scheinkman, relayed the advice Milton Friedman had given him 20 years earlier, "Don't save too much."

The logic was simple: ... salary rises steadily over time, as do outside opportunities ... The right reason to save is so you can even out your consumption. When times are good, you should save, and when times are bad, borrow

In your haste to prepare to for your retired life, make sure you live your present life. I know far too many people that have failed to make the age 65 - and too many that have failed to make 30 (note: none were due to stupid decisions; a couple were accidents, the others medical conditions that took a surprise turn for the worse).

Make sure to start living before you retire.

retirement is still down the road though, and all it takes is one completely set up mistake with a nanny and you're out half your fortune.

At the moment the best way to retire a millionaire is to be a middle-aged billionaire.
/down down deeper and down

I knew a kid growing up that got rich off of t-shirts. His name was John Earle, now known as Johnny Cupcakes.
