Does this mean I don't have to worry about those copyright infringement papers I got for selling Steal-your-face tshirts on tour?

/in 1991.
//Ignored them anyway.

Doesn't having a corporate counsel kind of undermine the whole hippie thing? Just kidding, we know all Baby Boomers are sellouts.

Mugato: Doesn't having a corporate counsel kind of undermine the whole hippie thing?

No, it just means they were smart enough to know that music is a business and they needed to make sure what they were doing was done legally.

That and the fact that the band and him laid out the concept of providing free and/or lowcost high-quality live recordings to their fans in a legal way where everybody wins. Many bands are now following their methods and the fans of live music are grateful for it.

Because I was no fan of the GD, I applaud subby for the headline.

Does anyone have a good quality bootleg of the testament?

I like the early dead stuff, like what is on Workingman's dead. Once it got to the 80's though, every song sounded the same, with the EXACT same guitar solo, or nearly the exact same guitar solo played on the same 5 or 6 notes. They totally lost their creativity.

Now if only lightning would strike, fork out and kill each and everybody of the musicians, artists, performers, I guess that are in any shape, way or form connected to the goddamn farking Dead, that would be great.

What about their second assistant VP for overseas marketing? Is he still OK? He's what really made the band work.

I always thought if I were really, truly rich that it would be funny to randomly buy up shiatloads of the worst albums I could find just to throw the music industry into a tizzy.

It's not the enjoying music I'm not fond of part that's sad. It's this whole stoner thing of listening to the same damn concert for weeks at a time. But no! It's different now! It's from a microphone from the /other/ end of the room! Dig it, man! Like, groovy! And the entire 5 hr concert is "Fire on the mountain!Fire on the mountain!Fire on the mountain!Fire on the mountain!Fire on the mountain!" ad farking finitum. Yeah, that set's kinda crappy for the first 2 hrs, dude, but then they're really getting their groove on, you know?

gc.c: Wow. Thats a lot of dead musicians, artists, performers, humans.

I'm strangely cool with that.

gc.c: /reading Phil's autobiography right now, an awesome read!

Does it repeat the same paragraph of 50 words for a thousand freaking pages?

Alright!! Time to pull out my favorite old tour joke!

Q: What did the Dead Head say when she ran out of pot?
A: Hey! This music sucks.

/terrapin station-side B.

/look at his profile for proof of this

Kar98:

Why do you get so worked up?

Did someone force you to listen to the Dead for a month of Sundays or something?

shabu 2008-10-28 10:31:16 PM
Kar98:

When I'm a lil high, and listening to my bootleg of the last Deer Creek show, and they finally play Quinn, which I called at the first note and had been waiting years for, and i can kind of here me in the background yelling to my best friend in the universe who taught me not to try to be like other people that this must be my last show or something (and it was), I kinda love you and the fact that you're playing your part in the whole ying yang thing where some people have to be coarse to help us identify those who are smooth.

The rest of the time, you're kind of a dick.

/Just want to have a little peace to die and a friend or two I love at hand
