1. Circus peanuts are awesome.
2. No one gives out circus peanuts for Halloween because they don't come in little individual bags.
c. Tootsie Rolls and candy necklaces are also great

Rye_ [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 10:51:29 AM
What's wrong with Tootsie Rolls?

aimtastic [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 10:56:35 AM
Tootsie Rolls suck unless you microwave them - then they're awesome. Candy necklaces are also good. Those peanut butter things that came in the orange and black wax paper wrappers were the worst.

btc9183 [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 11:04:01 AM
Mary Janes FTW

/Love those
//kids don't
///win!

Isotope 2008-10-26 11:09:48 AM
I take exception to exactly one third of this list: Tootsie Rolls, Dubble Bubble, and Candy Necklaces are awesome!

I'm tempted to give out candy cigarettes for Halloween. The kids would love it, but the parents around here would probably torch my car or something.

Sapient [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 11:11:21 AM
Wow, thanks for showing us pictures with no useless text. That list is stupid.

shrthrdude [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 12:09:07 PM
I would have loved to get me some Mary Jane in my sack

theorellior 2008-10-26 12:09:24 PM
Candy corn blows. I've never understood why people countenance its presence as a candy. It makes my teeth itch just thinking about it.

mavrick45 2008-10-26 12:09:30 PM
saw a better list on digg a week ago
with text and pix

nice flail smitty

Some old man on my street used to give out walnuts to kids.
Well, he told us to close our eyes and dig into the mystery bag. Every year the mystery bag had walnuts in it. Well, they felt like it. All shrivelled and hard. We concluded they were walnuts.

/Seriously though, the guy gave away one walnut per kid.

whodigsben 2008-10-26 12:10:10 PM
I've been reading these lists all week long and most of them include Smarties. How can they include my beloved smarties? Why do they hate America?

Thosw 2008-10-26 12:10:13 PM
Sapient: Wow, thanks for showing us pictures with no useless text. That list is stupid.

The gummi bears had the caption "Candies that scream of another holiday are a big no-no."

Which holiday is that? Because I'm pissed I didn't get gummi bears.

greenbean13 2008-10-26 12:10:16 PM
I already have the jumbo bag of water pistols. I bet the kids would love some candy cigarettes to go with them.

drjekel_mrhyde 2008-10-26 12:10:24 PM
Sour gummi bears FTW

Tree nuts are very good for your cholesterol profile and overall cardiovascular health. He was just looking out for you!

This

Thosw: Which holiday is that?

I believe August 6th is Drop Bear Day in Australia.

Forsythe P. Jones [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 12:12:18 PM
But what about Chick-O-Stix? I still like them to this day.

SwallowTheKnife 2008-10-26 12:12:31 PM
Oh, and the cans of RC Cola were always special, but by the time you get 3 or 4 of the they were hard on my eight-year-old stick-arms.

preshrink 2008-10-26 12:12:33 PM
I have to agree with Dubble Bubble, only because I've never had one that wasn't hard as a rock. In fact, you could probably wrap up a good-sized piece of gravel and nobody would know the difference.

Hmmmmm. . .

theorellior: Candy corn blows. I've never understood why people countenance its presence as a candy. It makes my teeth itch just thinking about it.

EXACTLY! The whole slideshow should've just been one giant candy corn!

Unless they are laced with arsenic.

TheHappyCanadian 2008-10-26 12:13:57 PM
the chinese family around the corner used to give out boiled eggs.

he stopped after me and all the neighborhood kids returned the favor one year

McStubbins 2008-10-26 12:14:08 PM
I used to love circus peanuts, until one fateful day when I ate half a bag and puked orange tar.

/worst Halloween giveaway is those Jack Chick religious comic-books.
//tootsie-rolls are a sign of a benevolent deity looking over us

krazydiamond 2008-10-26 12:14:44 PM
WTH his wrong with tootsie rolls?

/gives our full size chocolate bars

skinink 2008-10-26 12:15:04 PM

Necco Wafers (similar to the necklace candie?). Or Black Licorice.

Or any cheapo candy that was purchased from a .99 cents store.

ladyway905 2008-10-26 12:15:57 PM
I came to share in the outrage of Tootsie Rolls. The kind of candy I always hated as a kid was that stuff in the Orange and Black wrapper. Firstly, I have never seen any of that crap sold anywhere, where do they get it from?! Secondly, that shiat sucks.

Gonz 2008-10-26 12:16:20 PM
aimtastic: Those peanut butter things that came in the orange and black wax paper wrappers were the worst.

YES. I'm tempted to hand those out this year, just so the kids in my neighborhood learn disappointment.

Soumac [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 12:16:35 PM
Necco Wafers FTL!

That is the big version of Mary Janes.

That is all.

Stacey5271 2008-10-26 12:18:13 PM
I like Tootsie Rolls, candy necklaces and Double Bubble. Besides the candy peanuts, I can't stand Bit O Honey.

Blasphemy. You should be crucified. Neco Wafers are the best ever. EVER.

Forsythe P. Jones [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 12:19:41 PM
And what about Nik-L Nips? The little wax soda bottles? They rocked when I was a kid.

gobo718 [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 12:20:43 PM
Where are Smarties? HATED them. And I second the hard, peanut-butterish candies in black and orange wax-paper. The worst I got while trick-or-treating was a wad of wet lemon cleaner doused paper towels. My friends and I got revenge on their house the next year.

FarkOf40000Years 2008-10-26 12:20:55 PM
I'm actually pretty fond of all of those.

Don't gimme no Boston Baked Beans, though

thedarkshadow 2008-10-26 12:21:15 PM
I live near a local college and high school and every year I end up with about 20-30 arsehats (early 20's and full of attitude) that show up at my door, never in costume, and demand candy. It really takes away from the pleasure of handing out treats to the little ones and it's intimidating.
Any suggestion what I should hand out this year? I was thinking chocolate covered dog kibble.

phestry 2008-10-26 12:21:16 PM
Red Hots! WTF! Now I'm offended. I can eat those things until my mouth is numb from the heat overload. I used to hate getting the tootsie rolls though, a few would have been ok, but they were like 20% of my trick-or-treat loot haul every year.

irockalot 2008-10-26 12:21:53 PM
They're forgetting the most useless thing you can get on Halloween...wax lips.

Tony_Pepperoni 2008-10-26 12:22:06 PM
Blow Pops......\m/

Gridlock 2008-10-26 12:22:25 PM
I have a simple rule for Halloween candy.

NEVER GIVE OUT CANDY THAT YOU WOULD NOT BE WILLING TO EAT OVER THE NEXT 3 MONTHS.

This year is simply too damn cold for most trick-or-treaters so I am not buying a lot of candy.

Wolfmanjames [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 12:23:10 PM
ecx.images-amazon.com

They should sell these by themselves.

Dear Jerk 2008-10-26 12:23:31 PM
Vanilla tootsie rolls are the best, but they're hard to come by. I found a site that sells them by the 20lb. bag, but that's too much of a good thing.

Life_is_a_carnivore 2008-10-26 12:23:44 PM
Dude is on crack.

ALL that stuff made me the fat fark I am today.

Slybri 2008-10-26 12:24:03 PM
The worst thing is those little religious pamphlets the Mormons give you. They taste awful and the ink stains your teeth.

Put up a tasteful sign, "No Halloween Costumes = No Candy".

People who give out these are asking for eggs on the siding!
