not only did this guy keep Deep Purple and Sabbath relevant for decades, he gave us \m/! We owe him a debt of gratitude.

Satan help me, I love Dio.

Now I will go for a bike ride while singing Holy Diver.

Instead of your bike you should ride the tiger...

Oh, what's becoming of me?

when Viv Campbell joined Def Leppard, I was psyched. I thought he'd bring the heavy. Sadly, he hasn't done anything interesting since he's been there

The kid in the elevator in "The Last in Line" video is Meeno Peluce, child actor deluxe. He was in tons of TV in the late '70s/early '80s, including TV's The Bad News Bears, Best of the West and Voyagers. His real-life sister is Soleil Moon Frye of Punky Brewster fame.

I'm pretty sure this video was an episode of the original Dr. Who.

I don't understand Dio. He wrote "Holy Diver," a song that draws upon some pretty good historical inspiration for lyrics combined with one of the most recognizable riffs in metal history. How did he manage to be so utterly silly the rest of his solo career?

I have an autographed picture of Dio in my cubicle at work. I bought it for $5 on eBay. It reads, "Magic! Ronnie James Dio."

I don't care about its authenticity; the looks I get from people are priceless.

I might take it down when I am up for promotion, though.

The kid in the video is Punky Brewster big brother. Heres a pic of him in the show The Voyagers

Vivian Campbell on his Dio days:

"The real irony of that is I actually don't like hard rock music," he said. "I know it's a strange thing to say, but I don't really care about my past contributions. Even now I still get these guys coming up to me going 'Duuuuuuuude!', giving me the DIO devil sign and yelling 'Holy Diver!!' and 'Rainbow In The Dark, whoo hoo!!' and it's cool that they remember it, but that music never mattered to me - and still doesn't."

and

"You know, the sorta old school heavy metal, he's [Ronnie James Dio] an incredible talent. But he's an awful businessman and way more importantly, one of the vilest people in the industry."
