When Deep Impact came out I thought Morgan Freeman was a better president than Clinton. I don't remember enough about Mars Attacks! to judge. The rest I haven't seen.

ZAZ: When Deep Impact came out I thought Morgan Freeman was a better president than Clinton.

I've always thought that was one of the best if not THE best portrayal of a President in a movie ever. He also plays a dandy God. Great actor for sure.

No one written by Sorkin.

Pretty much everyone written by Sorkin would be better than McCain, at least. Even Glen Allen Walken.

Arnold Vinick is, IMO, the ideal GOP candidate, also.

Dave is my favorite fictional president. Ooooh that Frank Langella is so evil!

Theological Farker 2008-10-26 10:57:09 AM
How about almost any of the other candidates actually on the ballot?

RylNalyevo: Feh,

That fool didn't do anything. Corbin Dallas did.

Theological Farker 2008-10-26 10:58:12 AM
Harrison Ford and Martin Sheen, most definitely.

Already has my vote. He has electrolytes. It's what plants crave.

Harrison Ford's president from Air Force One is the only one of them I would vote for.

For Dr. Strangelove, the article (if you can call a collage of stills from movies and article) didn't even show the picture of Peter Sellers as the president, they just showed him as the doctor.

Jeez, how lazy can you get....

hienekenftw 2008-10-26 11:04:45 AM
I'd vote in Alan Alda

Shaun of the Dead 2008-10-26 11:04:53 AM
No mention of Lex Luthor?

Inaditch 2008-10-26 11:05:15 AM
They could have called this article "Every fictional president we can think of."

Smellvin 2008-10-26 11:05:41 AM
They missed President Camacho

I am apalled to read any article that would question Obama's absolute perfection.

That'll learn me to take the time to post the image on ImageShack instead of just hotlinking.

/*Shakes tiny fist*

Cool Hand Luke 2008-10-26 11:06:46 AM
Matt Santos for President.

YouPeopleAreCrazy 2008-10-26 11:07:04 AM
Robin Williams or Morgan freeman, with a 3rd nod to Harrison Ford.

Stepqhen 2008-10-26 11:07:25 AM
This list is missing James Garner and Jack Lemmon from "My Fellow Americans"

1 democrat + 1 republican = The Lemmon Party?

demanton [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 11:07:32 AM
That is the new rallying cry for the bitters, "Neither one of these guys! Waah!"

serial_crusher [TotalFark] 2008-10-26 11:08:22 AM
I still don't get why the Simpsons Movie put Schwarzenegger instead of Renier Wolfcastle as president.

Also,

And didn't Cromwell play D. Wire Newman, from the West Wing, and Bush I in W.?

He must be VERY presidential

President Palmer FTW.

clipperbox 2008-10-26 11:09:58 AM
Well, so now I know how Man of the Year ends. But if I haven't seen it by now, I guess I wasn't going to see it.

Also, wtf is the president from Escape from LA doing on there? He's easily worse than our choices.

Philboy52 2008-10-26 11:10:08 AM
Cyborg77: Came here for that.

Well played.

What about Zaphod Beeblebrox?

skinink 2008-10-26 11:11:29 AM

And if you want to go all the way, maybe our fictional President wouldn't be taking office during a housing/financial market crash leading to a possible long recession, or inheriting a never ending and costly War on Terror.

That first six months of Bush Presidency when everyone made fun of him for taking so much vacation time is probably the best time of his Presidency.

3, 4, 7, 14, 18, 22.

I've seen most of the films they're in, and Chris Rock is in there because at least he talks about racism as he sees it, which is essentially "all of you are stupid."

AnEvilGuest 2008-10-26 11:12:44 AM
I would vote for Kodos but not that Kang bastard, no way.

Jack Ryan from the Clancy books would have been a good one too.

Wow, the bar is indeed set rather low when you'd go with that one.

Uncle Wiggly 2008-10-26 11:17:13 AM
Oh, yes: ONE L, ONE T? No. It should be TWO Ls, TWO Ts

... serves you right to have to type Philo T. Farnsworth.

25 fictional presidents who'd probably do better on November 4th than either any of the guys actually running.

FTFY subby. Either denotes two. We have a total of 13 presidential candidates here in Florida.

/So many idiots, so few choices.
