You left out complaining, biatching, and tearing down his ex-bandmates so none of us will ever get to see a Smiths reunion tour.

*sob*

Stop me if you think you've heard this one before, but that joke isn't funny anymore.

That right there is the perfect reply. My day has actually been made brighter for having read that.

My favorite thing about Morrisey is that he sends people into a homosexual panic. It's like going to an early Fear concert. Apparently allusions to Oscar Wilde and Gregorian chanting trigger a deep seeded primal fear response.

Eh, I'm over the fact there won't be a Smiths reunion tour. Unless Johnny Marr promises to bludgeon Morissey on stage with his guitar at some random point in the tour, I can live without it. "Lead singer in a coma..."

My favorite thing about Morrisey is that he sends people into a homosexual panic.

Really? I never saw that. I have only noticed two camps when Morissey comes up in conversation, the "he's a whiny douche" and the "shut up, he's a fukking genius".

Is he really gay?

I never said he was in a homosexual panic. I know nothing about his sexuality but he's attractive and effete and used to claimed to be completely celibate, which I always found interesting and completely alien.

Yes, I'll read his book.

I wish everybody would lay off Morrissey.

He is human. And he needs to be loved. Just like everybody else does.

I will read it. I love Morrissey. I have been listening to him since the late 80s.

My husband's imitation of him is hilarious.

Lets hope he heeds hsi own advice:
"if you must write prose and poems the words you use should be your own, dont plagiarise or take "on loan" there's alweays someone, somewhere, with a big nose, who knows and who trips you up and laughs when you fall"

Morrisey is one of the funniest lyricists ever, (although I get the impression a lot of people don't see him that way) I hope the book is as witty as his songs.

If they've ever heard an interview with him, they'd realize he's almost always halfway taking the piss.

He's much cooler than he lets on.

Is anyone else as disturbed as I am that the NFL is using a Morrissey song in their ads? So, so wrong.

YES! Not only that, but it's been redone in Country Western! Such an odd song to choose, I mean, I get that "Sunday" is in the title and the chorus, but really, isn't the song lamenting Sundays?

Still, Marisa Miller in the commercial made it easier to take.

Disturbed? No. Suprised? Yes.

The NFL is using Every Day Is Like Sunday by Morrissey in one of their ads. I was half paying attention to the TV on the first week of football when that came on and briefly heard the song. At first I couldn't believe it but by the next commercial break it was confirmed. Unfortunately the NFL doesn't use Moz's version.

The NFL and Morrissey. Just a weird combo.

No kidding. Does the NFL's version make any references to people wishing armageddon would strike their dreary seaside town, or do they just use the chorus?

It's some generic version of the song and it's not very prominent within the commercial. It's only within the last 5 to 10 seconds where you can clearly figure out that it's Everyday Is Like Sunday which are also the only words that are used from the song.
