Sex is a shameful activity that should only be done for the purpose of procreation.

The only version I remember had the illustrations that made sex look downright dreary.

The only version I remember featured illustrations of hippies of both genders who didn't shave that made sex look down right unappealing.

I learned everything I need to know about sex from my uncle Harry.

I have a copy of the gay version. Right next to my bible.

In fact, I have to admit that I've never been to an orgy.

It's okay, honey, when you're ready, we'll be here for you.

In 2008, Alex Comfort's views are not representative, and him being dead, the publisher couldn't ask him to revise the book.

Thanks for clarifying, sweetie.

/if you want to know how to have kinky sex, you'll probably better off reading literotica than paying for something this broad wrote.

This book scarred more people that it helped.

It was like a how-to for idiots that thought they were awesome.

And not the thing you wanted to find your parents with 6 months before the divorce happened anyway.

Heck, just turn off safe search and type in almost anything.

I don't see what's wrong with my old copy. It's got illustrations too. I inherited it from my Grandpa.

So, as a fan of the RX-8 and the previous gen RX-7's, I've put a variation of those terms all the time... "wankel" "rotary engine" "wankel engine", etc.

I've never had a problem... And... I'm not seeing anything wrong with "wankel rotary engine" either.

Am I missing something?

/Safe search is off.

CougarJeff: The only version I remember had the illustrations that made sex look downright dreary.

The book was apparently written before the invention of the razor.

Pestifer 2008-10-19 05:34:49 PM
Well, it was illustrated by a guy best known for his spaceships (new window).

//srsly.
//He designed the ship in the original "Alien".

It's amazing to think that there was a sexual revolution at the same time that no one shaved or trimmed anything and people of all shapes and sizes wore tight-fitting polyester.

I was about 14 when I found "The Joy of Sex" in a relative's house. I remember the part where there was licking of ones own armpit. Someone enlighten me.

From TFA:

IDEAS: No? But you must have had your own "Joy of Sex" moment in 1972.

QUILLIAM: Indeed. I was 22 then. My boyfriend at the time, we were in his flat, which he shared with several lads. We found the book lying around, and we disappeared into my boyfriend's bedroom. I can't remember which bits we tried out. But I do remember reading it to each other and giggling over it.

This chick sound about as fun as an old dish rag. Let's find the most sexually boring person in world, and have her write a sex manual.

The Joy of Sex: Sisters of the Holy Edition.

Ch 1. Anyone who does anything is going to hell.
The end.

"IDEAS: What was the first book you published?

QUILLIAM: It was a grammar book called "Which Word?," a textbook exploring, for example, the difference between "wear," "where" and "ware." You know, homonyms."

Holy crow this woman is a drag.

It may not be all bad. Cognitive dissonance is conjectured to increase arousal, which might be why there's no sex like guilty Catholic schoolgirl sex.

So this book is going to further the belief that body hair is unnatural and should be entirely removed?

/"The Chromium Fence" by Philip K Dick comes to mind...
