Berklee, not Berkeley.

Or Berekley either, for that matter.

Can I buy subby a t-shirt that just says FAIL on it?

Did subby even watch the video? It says "BERKLEE" all over the music stands right next to the guy.

Anyone else hear the girl over-singing in the crowd toward the end?

Ja really. I wish he would lose all his money, lose his women, start into some drinking and drugs. I bet he would play some great blues.

FTFY. The last thing the world needs is another deadly dull Hendrix/Vaughan clone.

energy. style. passion. not smooth grooves and plastic soul. john mayer is a bad artist. a bad artist that can play guitar isn't doing anyone any good. i'll take johnny thunders any day.

If this was anyone else they would have got a "Hero" tag. I dont like they guy but think he is pretty talented from what I have heard. Here we have a pop star who is talented and nobody is willing to cut him an slack. I dont really get it because it could be, and is, so much farking worse than John Mayer.

Man, how a guy who can play such killer guitar writes absolute douche songs is beyond me.

I guess some skills go only so far...

My only problem with his playing is that seasick vibrato. He pulls it way sharp, and the side-ways type vibrato takes a little care anyhow since it never goes below the center pitch like the human voice does. The classical style version is nicer (back and forth along the plane of the string, like a violinist.) This is one of the things that drives non-guitarist musicians nuts about the electric: if you have a refined ear, the vibrato sounds weird since it only goes OVER the center pitch and not below it as well. This is the real reason Strats have a whammy bar: you can imitate a normal vibrato (see: Dave Gilmour, and some SRV.) It really wasn't conceived as a dive-bomb toy.

Oh, sorry, I meant "Feeling man WHAT ABOUT THE FEELING!!!11! Steve Jones of the pistols is THE MANWE@!!!!!!

Never heard of him. By the sheer shiatiness of the song it's no wonder.

Ya know, if a musician cured AIDS, perfected fusion power, ended war, and ushered in an era a peace and prosperity for the next 10 million years, there'd still be someone on Fark who thought they sucked.

/ Mind you, John Mayer isn't that guy.
// He sucks.

I hate when people blatantly lie, if you have listened to any radio channel, watched the chapel show, read any of the headlines on fark you have heard of him.

Saw him play at a small club, hes pretty good, well at least about a 1000x better than me.

I've heard a few of his things that were great. He was on the Grammy's one year, and I think it was just him and a guitar and it was great.

I just wish I could get that clean tone he has. It's...so...beautiful. My little crappy amp and cheap (i love it) Peavey can't get that nice.

Great troll... you're reeling 'em in!

I liked the sing-along at the end; it sounded like a class full of music majors should sound on cue, even with the needless "flourishes."

John Mayer = perfectly good guitar from a man that has given up on pretense against "playing guitar gets you p*ssy." Hey, we've all got dreams.

You know what? That completely makes sense and yet it's never occurred to me at all having never played a fretless stringed instrument. The first thing I always did to my strats was unscrew that damn tremolo bar and add some strings to the backside of the tailpiece in order to imitate a hard tailpiece.

Of course it also occurs to me that in order to try to really imitate what you're talking about, I'm going to have to detune the damn thing by a half-step or something and try to keep the tremolo bar absolutely still.shiat, I have a lot to learn.

I saw him live few years back when my younger sisters and brother drug me to one of his concerts. I never heard of the farking guy before. My sisters told me i'd like him because I'm a blues nut. (I should have known)

He tried to play SRV's "Lenny" then went onto butcher "Empty Arms". That personally offended me. He followed that up with "my body is a wonderland". Seriously....WTF?

After the concert my brother was like "that was the gayest thing I've ever seen". Which kind of suprised me because my brother is gay.

WTF is that kid playing guitar behind him doing? He either has a "private" itch that needs scratched or he needs a date! PRONTO!!!
