Hobodeluxe: whaaa!! We want our plutocratic oligarch to win.

Well it's clear that someone has been studying his Nader...

And subby, it seems that this grew out of a desire to keep harmony in the workplace as the editorial board was not unanimous in their support for Obama.

Did they check with Chairman Obama on this?

FTA: America needs an honest president with experience, common sense, sound temperament and good judgment in the Oval Office.

I agree. Unfortunately this does not describe the McCain that is running for President.

Thank you for identifying yourself as someone who has nothing to say. I always appreciate it, it makes getting through long threads a little easier.

Ask people to describe McCain and the Weeners often is, "He's honest." What you see is what you get.

This was true prior to 2000, but hasn't been true since. McCain sold his vote to the possibility of being President.

And his character is unassailable.

This has not been true for a long time. See above.

That's what happens when a Republican hack buys your local news rag.

wozzeck 2008-10-19 09:51:49 AM
The Philadelphia Inquirer used to be a Knight-Ridder paper and was one of the papers that McClatchy wanted to quickly get rid of when buying Knight-Ridder.

The Inquirer was bought by a group of local businessmen lead by Brian Tierney, a Republican activist, who in addition to giving lots of money to Republican candidates also headed Catholic outreach for W.

Rick Santorum has been brought in as a columnist, and the assistant editor of the Editorial Page is a Kevin Ferris, a talentless hack whose editorial section contributions consist mainly of calling up Republican spokesmen and surrogates and printing up verbatim whatever he's told. I say talentless because his writing style consists of, "I called up X, and he/she said..." "And then he/she said..." "And he/she concluded..." Reading his crap is like reading a first grader's book report, and would be equally appalling no matter the political orientation. That the guy receives a paycheck is an embarrassment.

So the subby is trying to be snarky, but chances are that he/she's actually being completely accurate, with the "another view" consisting of Ferris handing in text prepared by whoever he talked to at the McCain campaign.

Just out of curiosity, who was the idiot who decided news coverage needed to be fair and balanced?

The utter lack of comments on this article confirms my theory: No one cares.

/Not sure why I'm posting this.
//OK, its cuz I'm bored at work.

FTFA: America needs an honest president with experience, common sense, sound temperament and good judgment in the Oval Office.

I agree. Which is why I'm voting Obama.

And the land began to slide from beneath their feet. "Avalanche?" They quipped. What could they have done to encourage this landslide. Surely it was not their actions that had brought upon themselves such a catastrophe as this.

Where's the beef? It's the economy, stupid.

There are no mysterious associations to dance around. No 20-year attendance of a church whose pastor preached anti-American sermons. No serving on an education reform panel with a domestic terrorist. No financial support from a convicted felon. No ties to a group currently under investigation for possible voter-registration fraud.

OK, I'm a little fed up with this crap now. They want guilt by association via 1-degree-of-freedom?

How about this:
JOHN MCCAIN PERSONALLY caused the Forrestal disaster that killed 132 of his fellow American military.

JOHN MCCAIN PERSONALLY participated in unethical behavior using his political influence to attempt to alter legal proceedings.

Wright Ayers Rezko ACORN? How about:
FORRESTAL KEATING 5 JOHN MCCAIN KILLED AMERICANS

How do those 'zero degrees of kevin bacon' taste now? Grrrr. And the first word that pops into my head about McCain isn't 'honest', it's 'angry'. Angry bitter uncontrolled weak old man.

In other news, why in the hell hasn't Fark greenlighted a thread on Colin Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama? I'm seriously starting to believe that most of the mods on this site are either 'Fark Independents' or are biasing their greenlighting to overcompensate in that direction in order to stave off asinine accusations of 'librul bias.' Fark has some serious lag time when it comes to threads that are particularly negative to the GOP despite insta-green on just about any troll thread about Obama.

/Not an 'obamatron'
//Just want Fark to keep up with the news and not be hindered by stupid partisan crap holding up stories
///At least do it for the lulz FFS

We apologise again for the fault in the
Obama endorsement. Those responsible for sacking
the people who have just been sacked,
have been sacked.
