That may be even more impressive, considering KC is in a much redder area.

At this rate of decline, Obama's crowds will match McCain's crowds around mid November. Assuming McCain's crowds increase at their present rate. McCain's polling numbers should catch Obama in the polls at that time, about November 18th.

Wait.....

I'm glad I saw him in a small venue before he became all trendy and popular. Back when there was room in the place to dance, before he sold out you know? Before all these poseurs started saying "Dude, I liked him BEFORE the will.i.am video."

/Ok, so it was Detroit, last month. but there were only 30k

I never really got into the Decemberists all that much... they're good, but I don't think they're that amazing, IMO. Still, two shows in one day, I'll give 'em a nod for that.

DamnYankees: That may be even more impressive, considering KC is in a much redder area.

The KC area (minus Johnson County and some of Belton/Raymore/Lee's Summit) is really pretty blue. Johnson County, though, ranges from mildly Chamber-o-Commerce Repub (who are leaning more Dem every year) in the north to utterly insane no-dancing-allowed talibapistry further south.

You have way too long a history to pull that shiat. I know you are getting bites but still...

KawaiiNezumi 2008-10-19 12:30:42 AM
I was at the rally and volunteering at the campaign headquarters before when Senator Obama came in and spoke to the voters we were phone banking with. Truly amazing. They had space at the rally's venue for 50,000, and were completely full with thousands more outside.

I have a new favourite word.

Oh yeah, and now is as good a time as any to point out that McCain hasn't been campaigning on weekends at all this year (at least so far). *snerk*

Well, pretty much every "city" is blue. That's how it works. But comparitively, a city squashed between Kansas and Missouri is in a redder area than a city bordering Illinois.

I wanted to go to this rally with my GF, however prior obligations kept us from attending tonight in KC. Sounds like it was absolutely packed there at the Liberty Memorial, and not a fun place to get out of after the rally.
