seriously everyone. vote early. the lines on the 4th will be unprecedented. and double check your registration because they are refusing people even if their name is misspelled by one letter.

do not wait until the 4th if you can help it. and make sure you vote please. this is the most important thing you might ever do.
and it'll make ya feel big and strong

Exactly. Vote early if you can. And if you vote on election day, make sure you have ID and proof of residency with(you shouldn't have to, but it might come down to that).

If you have questions, or if you run into problems, do not hesitate to ask for help. Civil Rights.org(p) has a huge list of resources. And you can call 1-866-OUR-VOTE to get help.

what about ethical people such as myself who refuse to enable shiatheads on either side of the aisle? voting in this presidential election is a bad idea, because however you vote you're voting for terrible future for America.

Already voted.

I don't know if I've ever had more satisfaction from voting as I did this year.

Got to both vote for Obama, and against Prop 8 (the CA anti-gay marriage stupidity).

voting in this presidential election is a bad idea, because however you vote you're voting for terrible future for America.

If you voted for anyone but Kerry in 2004, or Gore in 2000, you voted for Bush = a terrible future for America.

Note for those who insist Kerry would have farked things up worse: if he had farked them up half as bad as Bush, the Democratic Party would be kaput in America for the next twenty years, as are the Repubs now.

/My hindsight is 20/10.

Yes, but it won't change a damn thing, and you will continue to see giant douche's run against turd sandwiches (to borrow from SP). Vote for a third party, especially locally. You have to build from the ground up.

Yeah me too but it's been more like 12 years for me (precinct move) . Also I voted in the primary and have a stack of proof of identity papers to take with me. I also have a copy of my voter registration paperwork dated march 2008. I was born in the hospital 1 block from the polling place and have lived in this county all my life. I hope someone makes an issue.. I will attempt to sue the ass outta them.

There are very few good reasons not to vote. Even if you hate the major parties, you can vote third party. If all the so-called "libertarians" in this country actually voted for Bob Barr this year instead of John McCain, it would show the Republican party that they will have to make some changes if they want those voters back. Instead all the people who are so proud to call themselves Libertarians any other time will puss out and pull the R lever or stay home. Nothing will change.

Crown_of_Shoes 2008-10-18 10:22:14 PM
OK, I predict massive disenfranchisement in urban centers, and the result will be 20-40 times the number of "provisional ballots" as the previous election.

It will be clear, no matter who wins, that these provisional ballots could hold the key to swinging the vote and the GOP will fight with teams, nay, droves of lawyers to see to it that they are purged and the election is upheld/overturned.

There is a major power-play in the works from the GOP and all it will take from GW and his "disaster capitalism" cronies is one little scare, one little shake-up to convince the American people that action must be taken and taken fast or else we'll suffer immeasurable consequences.

If McCain wins at this point, when an Obama is all but a sure bet, it will spell absolute anarchy, unprecedented anarchy.

Maybe my tinfoil hat is on too tight, but I've never trusted the Bush Administration to relinquish control to anyone but themselves or another Republican party and they've already been caught red-handed firing attorneys that won't comply with their little plan.

Yeah, what a retarded idea. How silly of me, thinking that if people stop voting for a political party it would cause that party to become less powerful.

If all the people in this country who wanted small government and fiscal responsibility got wise and stopped voting for the Republicans, it might make them start delivering on their promises for once.

I was just using the libertarians as an example. The same goes far any third party. I think people should vote for the candidates they actually believe in, not your "If you voted for anybody but Kerry..." bullshiat.

No, because it's pretty clear at this point that it'd take outright theft for McCain to win (unless Obama sacrifices a white baby to Baal to sanctify a gay marriage). At that point, it's time for the burninating to begin.

I voted a week and a half ago. One of the nice things about mail ballots is they don't send them to people who aren't kosher (at least, not in AZ). And before some smartass raises it, I hand delivered that ballot.

RemyDuron 2008-10-19 12:14:09 AM
Grr, motherfarkers. . .

If Obama is still polling this well up to election day and he loses, there SHOULD be riots. Hell, there should be a farking rebellion. This wouldn't be like 2000, manipulating a really close election, this would be blatantly obvious theft.

Lawnchair 2008-10-19 12:14:13 AM
I voted early on Thursday. Surprising lot of people there. No problems with me or my wife, but the guy in front of us in line was having some issues with being registered properly or not. Voting early (or trying to) gives you more of a chance of getting issues straightened out before it's too late.

And, yes, get informed and vote, even if you can't brook any politicians. Things like school bonds and transit sales tax proposals (and Prop 8, as mentioned above) matter, possibly more in your life than which yahoo is in the White House.
