Poling her might be fun. Electing her is out of the question.

Hey, article author! Correlation =/= causation. FYI.

My suspicion is that it is an larger male cultural change, not a result of any one indicator like "more dudes in jail". There are still many, many more men than women elected as well, so we're hardly on our way to some matriarchal Amazon society.

Generally, I think the decrease is part of the overall decrease in civil society organizations that men especially are members of. "Being a man" seems to have devolved from "being informed about the issues of the day and being a part of a political party or a club or lodge" to "Fark it, why go out? I have an X-box." Women are more likely to still be involved in community organizations.

The internet will probably reverse this trend because it offers a virtual place for people to congregate based on their unique interests. While for some people the internet offers them a chance to share with others their love of furry porn or whatever, for others it offers them a chance to coordinate actions related to reducing ethanol subsidies or whatever the heck they care about. Or, if you look at blogs like BoingBoing, people can from a transnational level encourage activists to organize at a local level around copyright issues and play a significant role in national politics. I sure hope that if people find the time to blog and write 10 Facebook posts about something, they'll figure out the voting part is important as well. But this is probably the first Presidential election where we're going to see the results of significant organizing and campaigning on the internets, so we'll see how much male voter turnout there is.

Right - women are just looking for any excuse to leave the kitchen.

This just in--Palin a skanky whore who puts out to oil and mineral interests and shoots wolves from helicopters for fun.

That and her age causes her to produce genetically inferior offspring.

Her tits are unimpressive and I could give a shiat if she knows how to breathe through her ears.

Men have gotten lazier, women not quite so much. Problem solved.

Over the last 40 years, some 16 million men-a population roughly the size of Michigan and Indiana combined-have stopped pulling the lever. That's a hole five times the size of George W. Bush's margin of victory in 2004.

An accurate claim if the election was decided based upon the popular vote. As it stands, it's incorrect, uninformative B.S.

The current political landscape is as unfriendly to employed straight white men as a university admissions office or minorities/women's studies/poly sci department.

Outside of Palin there is not a whole lot to attract straight white working men to either ticket. The Democrats have a ticket so far to the left that if they win we will have our first Ghey commie president (Bill was the first black president) and the GOP candidate is so busy being a "maverick" he appears indecisive which is like having the ghey or being a socialist, a decidedly un-man like trait.

I'd rather hit her than vote for her.

I think that might be the first time I've felt that in my life.

Hot she is not. 20 years ago, she was decent enough, second prize in a beauty pagent ain't too shabby I guess. But these days I'd imagine that when the clothes are off, gravity isn't all that kind to the woman.

It's all relative.

I remember a substitute teacher in high school... EVERY guy on campus would have loved to have been a statutory recipient from her. She wasn't nearly as hot as some of the girls I went to college with, but it was that she was an authority figure who was hotter than any other one we knew.

In a world of Clintons and Pelosis, she's a breast of fresh air. I mean, a breath of fresh ass. I mean, nipples and dimes. I mean, nipples and boobs.

Money.

I'm still pulling my lever. Maybe I could pull their levers too?

Men are not dumb. Men, As opposed to mere males who vote Dmeocrat, work for a living and like to be able to have first call on what they have earned instead of some Democrat who wants to spread it around.
