One of the aspects of Dominionist Christianity^ is that they take the bit in Genesis where God says "All this is yours" to mean "I wasn't using it anyway. Go. Do what you like. I hid some oil around for you to find as well." to the point where they say it's okay to "rape" ^ the earth. Wouldn't be a stretch that Palin is one of these.

Nobody is stupid enough to say worse. They would have to be completely ignorant of biology, chemistry, economics, and culture to think we are worse off by protecting the whales. Nobody can be that ignorant of all 4 of those things, and any one of them justifies this protection.

Yes. Some fundamentalists justify the overuse of natural resources as divine right and a method to move the world towards the Rapture. Now, they do not figure they move the Rapture ahead of schedule by hacking down trees, warming the world, polluting rivers, etc., but that they are right on schedule, and in a sense they have to.
