Yeah, I don't get that. Socialism implies total socialism while Capitalism implies total capitalism. No country, that I can recall has ever used a pure form of either (and both types would be unsustainable). We have a mixed economy and fluctuations right or left doesn't make any less of a mixed economy.

Well.. Technically the oil in our ground belongs to everyone, any company taking natural resources should have to pay for those resources. But hell ignoring that, Alaska has been giving checks to its residents for many years even before it became a major oil producer.
