Yeah, Mike Patton was in high school when he formed Mr. Bungle, 1985. He joined Faith No More in 1988.

I like Mike Patton's songwriting talent, but I think he's a douchebag.

funktilious hit on what I came to say. Bungle came before FNM. And while I will forever think of Patton as FNM's only singer, there are a few who came before him.

NOTE: I believe you can spot him wearing a Mr. Bungle t-shirt in the "Epic" video...

Anything new from Patton since Peeping Tom? (new window)

any of you guys know if "Existential Blues" was ever officially recorded by Mr Bungle? I have a live rendition of it that is awesome from back in the napster days and I thought this was one of the best song they ever did

would love a studio version

also a studio version of "the cantina song" eh eh

harpo787: Anything new from Patton since Peeping Tom? (new window)

Anonymous by Tomahawk, though I don't don't recommend it--it's pretty self-indulgent (nowhere near Delerium Cordia, though) Next up is Mondo Cane--Italian lounge songs from the 60's. It keeps getting delayed, latest word is early 09.

Yes. It's not hard to find, in fact it's a Demon to avoid.

RE: new Patton stuff

He did a single for that new Crowe/Dicaprio movie w/ Serj from System of a Down. Bird's Eye, I believe.

Good tune if you ask me.

Meh, it works for me as background music for sleep. Or sex.

My favorite Patton memory was when Tomahawk opened for Tool a few years back, and he came out with his hair in pigtails and wearing a J-Lo belly shirt. Maybe you had to be there to appreciate it.

I know what you mean. This album is something that my soul dost seek. (Or it would be, if I hadn't downloaded it illegally on soulseek just now.)

Of course, that was a joke. In all seriousness, music piracy is a crime.

This is a really good music vid..simple, yet effective...the exploding fish are a nice touch.

Circa 1990... then Nirvana opened up with the Grunge scene shortly after that...

As much as liked some of Nirvana and the bands that came along with that sound...it would have been better if music had taken the direction of bands like Faith No More...

It's not so much the rock/rap thing.. it's just that it's much more intelligent, better musicianship and meticulous production values versus the punk attitude of not giving a fark...

Not this. Can't get into it. Love most Patton stuff, but Peeping Tom doesn't do it for me.

Secret Chiefs 3, though, is. The. Shiat.

Saw the "From Out of Nowhere" video twice on Headbanger's Ball, thought 'These guys are the farkin' Village People of Rock!'

Bought 'The Real Thing' on a Boy Scout trip to DC in '89. played it for my friends, they all hated it.

What seems like a full year later, the video was 'Epic', the song was a hit, and my friends all suddenly owned the cassette.

Bought all their albums, even Chuck Mosely's stuff, although my interest started to fade after 'King for a Day'

Bought 'Mr. Bungle' when Track 1 was still called 'Travolta'.

umm...what was the question again?

Well, that's not all, but that's hardly saying much for a guy who brings so much quality and talent to the table.

yeah, ou818 is REAL easy to find. but all those pre first album demos sound like hammered shiat. the only interesting one is the first one, just because its all speed metal. but it sounds god awful too.

ne2d: ...oh and Subby, this wasn't before Mr. Bungle--note the Mr. Bungle T-shirt in the video for Epic.

no sh*t, what moron wouldnt know mr bungle was before he joined faith no more? submitter loses.

what's up with the audio on this video? It's not the studio version.

I've been listening to "The real thing" a lot lately. Making myself feel old by thinking about how this album is already 20 years old.

As an aside, General Patton also voiced the screams of GlaDOS' Anger sphere in Portal. Here's all his samples.

I would have loved a suicidal tendencies/faith no more double bill concert.

THAT would have been badass.

Mike Patton was hand picked from Mr Bungle to be the second lead singer for Faith No More.

Makes me think of the General Patton v. The X-cutioners thing....that was a bit beyond my normal enjoyment, but intriguing, nonetheless.

Reminds me of this madness (new window). How this guy doesn't just blow out his throat entirely is beyond me.

I got a free song download from Zune, so I spent it on Fantomas' Delirium Cordia. Its pretty good at points, but overall its kinda meh. It would make for some kickass background music in a haunted house. And the last 15 minutes of track being record skipping were a let down, but I suppose it is a very Patton joke to play on the listener.

And while I'm on the topic of DC- this YouTube vid is pretty neat.
