You can see it in liberals' eyes and in their white-knuckled grips on their hammers and sickles.

HA HA HA HA HA!!1!

Never underestimate liberals' abilities to fail. We've done it many times before. Obama's doing well, but Rove is still a Republican, and it scares me to think what his October surprise is gonna be. Right now I'm betting on Powell endorsing McCain.

A win wouldn't be enough for me after the campaign the GOP has run.

Agreed. Besides, this isn't just about the Presidency. There are plenty of GOP Congresscritters that should be shaking in their boots right now.

Even in my most catastrophic of nightmares, it's difficult for me to see Obama losing this election. Of (what I consider) the battle-ground states (NV, CO, MO, IN, OH, VA, NC, and FL), Obama need only win one to win the election. Even winning only Nevada, the smallest prize at 5 EVs sends the election to the House. Winning only Colorado's second-smallest 9 EVs puts him up 273-265.

So yes. Barring the "dead woman/live boy" scenario, this election will end with a Democratic president. The DNC should be concentrating the bulk of its wealth on the senate races in OR, MN, and NC, and whatever smattering of house races they feel are competitive.

NYZooMan 2008-10-18 09:16:22 PM
Yeah, whadawe need some stupid election for anyway? The polls already called it.

Would you go away already?

Seriously, you're a disgrace to the state. Go move to a country that meets your political needs better, like North Korea or China.

I'm hoping for a rout this election. Even if Obama is only half the President his rhetoric makes him out to be the complete decimation of the Republican party in this election might shock them back into being a respectable party again, so that this country might once again move back towards the realm of political discourse instead of vitriolic hate and fear-mongering. I have no illusions that politics will ever be pretty, but this past election has shown just how low the road has gone, and it needs to be beaten to a pulp before it'll stop.

It would need to be a pretty epic shaggy dog screw-up.

Remember, Gore ALMOST won. Kerry ALMOST won. Obama is 10x better than either of them at running a campaign. And we're in the middle of the biggest economic meltdown in 80 years. No way no how does McCain win.

This is America. I'm pretty confident that Obama will win, but let's not give in to complacency now.

If he runs the country half as well as he's run his campaign, we'll be in good shape.

When reading articles such as this, I imagine Obama raising a sledgehammer back over his head and crashing it down upon a belligerent but helplessly confused elephant below him, somewhat similar to this (new window).

Which reminds us of the old maxim that "eternal vigilance is the price of liberty;" hence, the need to be all the more watchful for signs of voter intimidation and harrassment, especially the kind targeting National Minorities.

Any such should be reported to law-enforcement agencies posthaste.

And there's also the Election Protection freecall hotline of 1-866-OUR-VOTE to report polling irregularities.
