What you're trying to say is that Meet the Press isn't worth being on anymore? Quite true.

Only the second ever? Zombie Andrew Johnson must have been quite the ratings draw.

Besides being a native born citizen above the age of 35 years and of good moral character, I never knew being on "Meet the Press" was a requirement to be President or Vice-President. Any other little known, or secret prerequisits?

It's not a PREREQUISITE, but how the hell can she be expected to sit down with Putin if Katie Couric is too much for her?

For some reason this worries her.

This is correct. She is an inarticulate, rambling, obnoxious, toxic, whiny fascist pig. She can't answer questions for shiat. Her one talent is her ability to read aloud with a sometimes curious cadence.

The Meet the Press issue is only one example of this. But it's a big example.

From the article:: Sarah Palin is only the second VP candidate to never appear on Meet the Press.

Why should she?

FormlessOne 2008-10-18 08:55:38 PM
Gato Negro: Why should she?

Yeah! She's too busy dropping a puck at a friggin' Flyers game to debate our nose-diving economy or disastrous foreign affairs. Why should she spend time on "Meet The Press" when she can bobble softball questions thrown at her by Katie friggin' Couric?

Sheesh. I'm not sure what's worse - that she's an idiot, or that she resonates with so many other idiots.

RadiomanATL 2008-10-18 09:00:53 PM
So Dan Quayle didn't appear in '88....but him and Bush the Elder won. So I'm not seeing where any inference can be drawn here as to the larger meaning of her possible non-appearance.

/shrug, who cares?

I like how it's Olbermann & Matthews' fault that McCain & The Cowardly Princess won't appear. I'm sure it has nothing to do with McCain getting busted on his "Economics" quote from there.

McCain/Palin - Who says we have to be accountable? We're mavericky.

Muta 2008-10-18 09:03:06 PM
Even though she has been on the Sunday morning talk shows, Palin has answered the most important question to me, 'Is it possible for someone to be dumber than Bush?'

JFK on Meet the Press 1951. Before he was on steroids for his Addison's, he looks like he weighs less than the big woman interviewing him.

No argument as to the fool part, but Danny and Georgie won.

So only fools don't go on MTP, but they wind up winning?

No, a sample size of 1 doesn't really have statistical significance for predictive value.

That's like applying for a job, and not going to the interview.

She is a liability...what is worse? To be thought an idiot or to remove all doubt and go on MTP?

This is what John McCain has decided for Sarah Palin. If this is what you want in a President, by all means, vote McCain Palin

SomeoneDumb 2008-10-18 09:32:36 PM
This just shows me how clever politicians have become. If the media ask hard questions, refuse to take the bs and press for real answers, then the politicians won't appear on the program or have interviews with them.

NBC and MTP are just examples here. Unless the media can be used by the politician to get his or her viewpoint out, the politician wants nothing to do with them. They have to play footsie, just like late night entertainers have to do with movie stars, and it's become far too much of an exhibition of back scratching for my taste.

This whole "I only want to talk to reporters who are on my side" decision is why investigative journalism has become so popular, and why so many see it as being left or right leaning.

I can't see any way to change the situation, either.
