Another Rush DVD?

How many times can Rush sell essentially the same product to fans over and over again?

Martstar 2008-10-16 09:07:11 PM
When Rush makes a move, the Fark music tab is there. When Neil Peart farts, when Alex Lifeson gets his haircut, when Geddy Lee gets a handjob from a groupie half his age, the Fark music tab is there. Chronicling every move of a band that has been at it longer than half the Fark population has been alive, in a bid to maintain their relevance in an otherwise uncaring world, Rush links are the key to an auto-greenlight on the Fark music tab. More than Oasis, Guns N' Roses, or that crappy cover band that plays "Final Countdown," Rush is the official band of the Fark music tab, for better or worse....

Loves Rush, but Martstar made me laugh.

I heard that it's supposed to be exactly like Moving Pictures.

Neil is notoriously press shy

See lyrics for LIMELIGHT.

Fans & faux-intellectuals harass him constantly & the turmoil of his recent private life (Google it) pretty much has sent him totally mute.

This is a great thing !!!

DIDACT !
NARPET !!
LISTEN !!!

I dunno man.... I would award that to Oasis... anything Noel says in quote marks, insulting someone or a band or a place and there you go. its there.

but yeah, Rush. Its not even fun to make fun of them anymore

I'll probably end up getting this, as I have all of their other DVDs. I saw the tour this summer and they were great. It's too bad they had to play 9 freaking songs from Snakes & Arrows (which will all probably be on the DVD). Most boring ass songs they've ever come up with.

Is this where I insert the requisite "I respect Neil Peart's technical precision, but listening to him is like listening to an appliance" type remark?

/doesn't believe in souls, but music should sound like it has one
//buddy rich owned all of you

Link (new window)

Should have inserted this in last comment. Buddy Rich, baby. Unleashed. Done with the aplomb of making a grocery list.

Ask Gene Simmons.

I think that was Alex.

In other news, "Off The Record" is still on the air.

Some Bass Playing Guy:

Q:How many times can Rush sell essentially the same product to fans over and over again?

I'll pick two songs and see which live albums they appear on:

Closer to the Heart:
Exit...Stage Left
A Show of Hands
Grace Under Pressure Tour (from Replay X3)
Rush in Rio

Tom Sawyer:
Exit...Stage Left
A Show of Hands
Grace Under Pressure Tour (from Replay X3)
Rush in Rio
R30
Snakes & Arrows Live

A: Many, many times

They're not the same.

And, anyone that compares Rush to KISS shouldn't be allowed to own a stereo.

Ohhhh...that's right! In the one version Geddy wails "Closer to the heaRRRRRRT" and in the other he caterwauls "Closer to the HEEEEAAArt." I forgot about that.

I don't know. Why don't you ask Jimi Hendrix or The Doors?

It's Geddy's voice, heavily altered. I remember Neil talking about it on some radio special for the Roll the Bones release.

I used to think it was Alex who did the "Subdivisions" but apparently that was a Canadian news anchor or something.

I really like Rush in theory. In practice, I can't bring myself to listen to anything after "Signals".

Now Kiss on the other hand has only been improving. The 90's was their finest decade musically. Pre-reunion.

Also, your favourite band sucks and there is no easter bunny.
