I'll take "Crap I come across in the used CD rack while looking for something good" for $1000, Alex.

Yeah, but will it be deliberately under-produced so as to lend to hipster cred?

/does love the song, "I'm Your Villain."
//still hates hipster rock

I'd rather have my arms and legs chewed off by an alligator than listen to them.

I kinda liked that one song that I heard on the radio a couple years ago for about...eh, 20 seconds or so. Then I stopped caring.

So much you decided to devote time telling the world?

Franz Ferdinand are great, looking forward to it.

I like Franz Ferdinand, but who cares about a tracklisting?

timefishblue 2008-10-16 08:24:04 PM
Well, now we know they'll have songs about the two greatest books in the world:

Ulysses and Twilight.

About farking time.

Seriously...I remember hearing this was supposed to come out around when In Rainbows came out.

How come the Beatles could make two albums a year and still come out with insanely good shiat and it takes Franz Farking Ferdinand four years to come out with one? I love them to death, but they're no Beatles.

You are all so hip and snarky. Love to see what's in your vinyl, err, cassette, ah, I mean CD collections, oops, on your iPods.

Alright so I'm going to give these guys another chance. All the singles I've heard just seem to be endlessly repeated lyrics and riffs and I just couldn't bring myself to get into them ...

(cues up download machine)

let's see what their full albums are like...

What's the point of releasing a list of songs nobody's heard?

/Off to release the tracklisting of his next album

You can say this about just about every band. Even people who don't like the Beatles can't walk away from a listen of Abbey Road or Revolver and claim that it sucks or is irrelevant. Likely the most consistent group ever, in terms of having the lease on a genius factory.

/is no Jack Kennedy

How about a bullet in the jugular in Sarajevo?

They're awesome. Can't wait to hear it.

Didja ever think, I dunno, that... maybe... maybe Franz Ferdinand is just a little too gay?

Is this the thread where people who listen to Metal ironically give opinions about other peoples lack of taste in music?

Franz Ferdinand is good, but they're no Boxcar Willie.

Pft, Franz Ferdinand will be a flash in the pan when my new dance-rock group comes out with our new record. We're called Gavrilo Princip, and we will Kill Franz Ferdinand

I love my house but its no Versaille. I love obama but he's no King David. I love my 5-year-olds drawing of flowers, but she's no Renoir.

I think people are misinterpreting what I'm saying. I'm saying the best band IN THE WORLD came out with the BEST ALBUMS IN THE WORLD and they did two a year.

Franz Ferdinand, a really good band, takes 4-5 years to make one album. As good as I'm sure it'll be, I doubt it was as complex as, say, Sgt. Pepper to make. What, exactly, is making them take so much longer than the Beatles did?
