I am unfamiliar with their music. I am getting their first album right now, this is a good place to start I'm assuming.

First time I tried I got the album 'Teenage Head' by The Flamin Groovies which is pretty damn good.

The most recent with Marky Ramone is a good compilation/greatest hits CD

In his honour, I'll go to the old Ontario Place Forum and start a riot.

Iconic Canadian Punk band? Never knew there was such a thing. So what kind songs did they sing?

Poutine and Obedience
God Save the Queen, no we really mean it unlike those Sex Pistols
Hockey Riots

/am I close?

Somebody want to tell me a little bit about this band? I love punk rock, but I'm not familiar with these guys. I like that they played with Marky Ramone, though.

Beat me to it.

God, the Forum was the best place in town to watch a band. Is there a rotating stage left anywhere in the world any more?

Speaking of beer, I used to see him all the time at the Bathurst/Dupont beer store back in the nineties.

Shame

What is it about punks dying when they hit 50?

Joe Strummer, Ian Dury, Joey Ramone and now Frankie

I loved the Forgotten Rebels. So trashy. So vile and outrageous.

Lead singer once told a joke from the stage -- "What has four legs and sucks cock?"......"YOU AND YOUR MOTHER!".

lmao. punk was fun in the early 80s.

/Psumek... go listen to Proud to Be a Canadian by the Dayglo Abortions for all your Poutine and Obedience needs.

DocRoberts 2008-10-16 07:50:55 PM
Wow, I haven't thought about Frankie in a long time.. now I have to dig up the old tunes and knock back a couple.

While I'm at it, I'll dust off the old Dayglo Abortions, Forgotten Rebels, DOA and SNFU nuggets... Some great stuff there.

So long Venom man...

Funny you mention that, just got a CD copy of Iggy & The Stooges "Metallic K.O." a couple weeks ago (used to have the LP; still have the poster). Love the introduction on that song. "For this evening's next selection, I'd be proud to present a song that was co-written by my mother entitled 'I Got My Cock In My Pocket'."
