I wish they would just be honest about the sample audience on CNN composed of "persuadable voters" and call them "impressionable idiots."

Meh, it's been a pretty bad eight years already. At this point in time, any change is good change in my mind, because at least it gives us a new perspective and a whole new set of problems to deal with instead of the same old "Stay the course!" crap we've dealt with already.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think that whoever is elected is going to magically fix all the problems Bush created, but hopefully they can stop the bleeding.

That aside, I'd just like to state for the record that my 401(k) has actually gained value in the last month, and I have no idea why.

McCain at least has a reputation for being somewhat thoughtful, and is therefore obliged to at least generally address the question. He actually has something to lose, albeit not much, were he to blatantly blow off the debate in favor of a stump speech.

It's a big market and people are making deals. Someone always makes money. The people screaming the loudest about economic Armageddon stand to lose the most. People on Main Street will adjust. Last time I checked, Portland hasn't dropped value very much or not at all in certain areas. I live in Garden Home.

GaryPDX: Last time I checked, Portland hasn't dropped value very much or not at all in certain areas.

Portland and Seattle are holding steady but thats because people are actually moving there to buy the houses to live in instead of just flipping them. On the plus side its good for local home values on the down side you have to deal with all those Californians moving in.
