"Why Can't I Touch It?" would be good for Valtrex.

Orgasm Addict would make a great ad for the Republican Party

"You're making out with school kids, winos and heads of state"

I saw them about 15 or so years ago. They were good. LOUD.

I saw them in a little club in Saint Petersburg years and years ago, probably only fit 300 and you were literally face to face with them. Probably the best show I ever saw.

I saw one of their reunion tours in 2001, it was very awesome, people from 18 to 48 in the audience. I'm as old as the band members, most of the people in the audience were somewhere inbetween.

Good show, good energy, band was into their material, crowd was into the band.

Everybody's Happy Nowadays.

Yeah, but what do I get?

For my money, the premier UK punk band, and one of the 5 best in the world. I love the Buzzcocks.

Huzzah! Now maybe he can finally afford to get that busted guitar fixed.

That's cool, but when's the Magazine reunion?

gwowen 2008-10-15 02:10:08 AM
That's "Buzzcocks", not "The Buzzcocks", OK? Just "Buzzcocks".
Saw them recently. Awful, awful, awful.

Awesome, awesome singles band in their heyday, though.

It's happening in England next year. Two shows (new window).

I don't mind.

The Dynamite Monkey 2008-10-15 09:02:56 AM
"Breakdown" is one of my favorite songs.

So that's whatever happened to them.

What was so awful about it?

I saw them a few years back and I def enjoyed the show.

DeepDownHounds 2008-10-15 10:28:33 AM
This is pretty cool, but let's be realistic. You'd listen to the 2nd disc of demos and outtakes ONCE. I'm pretty sure the germ of a Buzzcocks song idea isn't a whole lot different than the final product.

Not hatin', just sayin'. I've fallen for this too many times in the past.

Reissue, repackage re-package, re-evaluate the songs! Buy both and feel decieved....

Clash City Farker 2008-10-15 10:45:33 AM
I saw them 2 or 3 years ago. Was very loud. My ears were ringing the next day. It was a good time, but I didnt dare go in the pit. I'm getting too old for that.

Trainspotr 2008-10-15 11:12:55 AM
I saw them at the Cabaret Metro on their first reunion tour in '89. So yeah, I'm old. I was right up front leaning on Steve Diggle's monitor the whole time. Phenomenal show. Not to mention pre-Gish Smashing Pumpkins opening for them. Good times.

BiscuitsForSmut: What was so awful about it?

They just sounded really bad. All the melody and dynamics of the records replaced by a characterless wall of noise. All those cool pop tunes lost -- they sounded like a Green Day covers band rehearsing in a garage, or one of their second-rate punk contemporaries, like Generation X or The Slits.

zabbers 2008-10-15 01:28:45 PM
Magazine shows? holy wow! wish i lived in England...ha ha, no, not really, but maybe i could visit!

Sid Vicious' Corpse 2008-10-15 01:36:30 PM
Years ago my daughter was gushing about how awesome Green Day was. So I gave her my "Singles Going Steady" CD to listen to. She's never mentioned Green Day since, but I've heard her singing "Harmony in my Head" several times.
