Is it me, or does Junior not sound so good no more?

Kevin5280 2008-10-13 09:34:21 PM
a song written in response to critics who said he wasn't living up to the legend of his father, Hank Williams Senior

And now re-written to prove the critics' point.

Hank, why do you drink?
Hank, why do you roll smoke?

pootsie: Is it me, or does Junior not sound so good no more?

"No more"? And no, that's not a comment on the grammar...he's always sounded like shiat.

Hank Williams III, however, has to be a huge honkin' Obama supporter. I only know of three right-wing punks and Johnny Ramone is dead, so we're down to Jerry "I'm a Bigger Sell-Out than Johnny Rotten and I Suck without Danzig" Only and Joe "I'm Quitting the Warped Tour Because Fat Mike Made Fun of Me for Being a Republican WAAAAAAAAH" Escalante of The Vandals.

"This old union's got problems. That is plain to see. The Democrats bankrupted Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, just like 1-2-3. The bankers didn't want to make all those bad loans. But Bill Clinton said "you got to!" Now they want to bail out. What I'm talking about, is a democrat liberal hoodoo!"

I see he's appealing to the inbred hillbilly retard vote. Stay classy Hank.

Meh, I'm just sick of actually trying to make logical and well thought arguments and having them either completely ignored or to them be totally misquoted to make some point completely in the left field from where I actually am.

Therefore, I'm now only debating with silly pictures. Hell, most of the arguments I see online can be refuted with the wisdom from bumper stickers...

Can you walk me through your thought process on that please? Seriously. Even hardcore conservatives like Kristol sees it as a sinking ship, yet people like you somehow think he's going to win. How so?

This is beautifull!

After all the artists who have come out and stated how pissed they are that McCain used their music, the republicans come up with Hank Williams Jr.

How fitting! You're usually impaired when you listen to Hank, and have to be impaired to vote for McCain/Palin.

The McCain supporter comments after that article scare the hell out of me.

"Liberal elitist" truly is a euphemism for "gots more book learnin' than 'yall."

I've noticed a pretty serious decline in the evident IQ of McCain suppoters in the past month or so. Once Palin started opening her mouth, the smart ones started shutting theirs.

Look who we're left with here on Fark. Guys like Danlpoon who rarely have anything relevent to say.

It'll take an act of Diebold for the republicans to win this time.

ThunderPelvis 2008-10-14 06:08:32 AM
Hank's not lookin' so good these days. It'd be a shame if he drunkenly blew chunks of half-digested Denny's Grand Slam Breakfast and rancid Budweiser down Palin's blouse.

/damn shame, that'd be.

If Obama goes into the election with an 8+ point lead and loses, i'm guessing some seriously bad things are going to happen.

Err, was there ever a time that he sounded good?

That apple fell REAL far off the tree. I don't think he would've gotten anywhere in the music business if his father hadn't been an icon.

This is the main reason I hear people use for voting early here in Ohio. The convinience is great, but it's a better than fair bet that the Diebold machines are tweaked.

After the past eight years, how could anyone in their right mind vote for McCain? I just don't get it.

I don't remember the lyrics to "Family Tradition", but am I right in thinking that when he "re-wrote" the lyrics, he completely screwed up the meter of the song? Some of the lines have 5 or 6 more syllables than it seems they should have.

TheMaskedUnit 2008-10-14 08:44:27 AM
Yup. I'm no country music scientist and your fancy words like "meter" scare me a little, but I think you may be right.

Heard about this on NPR this morning on the drive in. One of the other guys in my carpool has been on the fence; he doesn't like either of the candidates. When he heard the little 15 second sound byte of Junior braying, he turned to me and said "Well, that decides it. I'm voting Obama." I'm pretty sure he was joking (mostly), but wouldn't it be nice?

scavenger 2008-10-14 10:06:40 AM
Hank Williams is (was) awesome.

Jr. is a full blown waterhead.

Hank Senior was a musical god.
