Probably my favorite Maiden song of all time. That and "Still Life", both from the ultimate Maiden album "Piece of Mind"!

Nice subs!

I like "Run for the Hills" myself. Lyrically it's kinda cheesy, but musically, it's awesome. And we're talking about metal for chrissakes. Cheese is par for the course.

Of course, if you want real classic Maiden, you can't beat this.

I smell... a Rick Roll... I could be wrong and I hope I am. For anyone that would defile a Maiden green light with RA would be in danger of metal hell. As in having to listen to Winger... FOR ETERNITY!

Maiden's best moment is "Fear of the Dark" on the Rock in Rio CD. Gives me goose bumps!

"Wasted Years" is my favorite Maiden. Maiden is one of those bands that reach over boarders, you don't have to be a metalhead to love em.

Will have to say, Fear of the Dark gives me goose bumps when I hear it. First time I heard that was from the Real Live One CD, went out and bought Fear of the Dark right after that.

I'll go get some headphones and glue. You go get the Winger records.

C'mon- "Run for the Hills" and "Fear of the Dark" gotta count for something, right?

At least I didn't confuse "Trooper" with this.

Powerslave is one of my favorite records of all time. Killers is great too but I like Peace of Mind better.

It'd still rather that than Astley.

Fear Of The Dark is my favorite. 2 Minutes To Midnight is a close second. Run To The Hills would be third.

Their album from 2006 is worth picking up.

ComicBookGuy 2008-10-12 05:33:11 PM
Hmmm....how about Rime of the Ancient Mariner....anyone?? Bueller?

Actually, The Trooper is close to being one of my faves. Also, Aces High and 2 Minutes To Midnight. I'm not sure if I like Harris's writing more than the Dickinson/Smith team.

I do like Maiden (saw them at Merriweather), but god, you'd think the admin in question would give it a rest.

Coheed and Cambria covered this when I saw them back in November, and quite well I may add.

thats pretty decent.
Personally I love the hell out of alot their songs. ONE of my top ones is definitely Hallowed be thy Name. As for the album: i'd say Seventh Son of a Seventh Son holds up extremely well. Each song is different yet well crafted and farkin melodic and catchy at the same time. Got love for Maiden's work except i tuned out for the Blaze years.

Heamer 2008-10-12 08:35:05 PM
Definitely one of their best; I just love this song. Hallowed Be Thy Name, Two Minutes to Midnight, Run to the Hills, Powerslave, The Clansman, too many good songs. Rock on, Maiden.

Omorda 2008-10-12 11:06:35 PM
saw them this year in calgary and they went to this song like the third song in and the building just exploded. everyone sung along, such a great driving song.

dude you think thats incredible. For the Fiasco that Sharon Osborne pulled at Ozzfest in San bernardino--where she pulled the audio plug on their set several times (that unprofessional whore)-- the whole event was singing the chorus of "hallowed be thy name". Its not an exageration when i tell you that it was the loyalty of the fans that saved that show and kept Maiden from walking off in the middle of their set.

Find me a heavy metal fan that doesn't like Iron Maiden and I'll bet he thinks Tool and Marilyn Manson are metal - then call him a poser and ask him who God is. If he replies that "God is dead" or somesuch you have international right to stomp him (once) in the groin - if female, KHITBASH.
