I have found memories as a 5 year-old listening to Louie play "St. Louis Blues" with my grandparents. I'd never heard this before.
/Thanx, subby

The term "earworm" makes me cringe.

Louie played "St. Louis Blues" with your grandparents?

They look like they were having a lot of fun. There was some serious musical work going on, but over top of that they hammed it up for all they were worth. Not a bad way to introduce some big band jazz to a mainstream audience.

/cheesecake, gobble gobble cheesecake

Wondering if Cheese cake is code for something more lurid.

I have yet to figure out why it's so easy to appreciate players from that era playing what seem to be such obvious parts. Are my ears just trained to know where the music should go as a result of having heard these guys? If I saw a band play this live today, note for note, I just don't think it would work as well.

Because this is Fark, my eyes scanned the headline and registered "Lance Armstrong" before I read it more carefully.

Wish that stuff got the attention now that it got then. When are you going to turn on the TV nowadays and find something this fun and entertaining? TV sucks now. Not saying I don't own one or watch it, I'm not that guy.
