I've always found it ironic that the generation that believed in free love and cannabis has turned around and supported DARE and the DEA, not to mention abstinence based birth control.

It's too bad that the government refuses to regulate this industry and bring it under some semblance of control. But I guess that's what de-regulation is all about.

Unions completely aside, there is something seriously wrong in so much of the US that you have communities fighting over getting prisons, because it's the only stable economic activity left. It's just scary.

A few years ago I was driving through western Pennsylvania (just crossed over the border, on a road trip to DC) and on some random AM station there was an AD - an ad for special lights that would help you grow your herbs inside. I kid you not. They made all sorts of mention of basil, thyme... but still. Lights. To grow your herbs. On late night AM radio...

No, I used to smoke heavy duty pesticides. But now that I'm a responsible adult (i.e. - random drug screening at work), there seems to be an influx of very good home grown in the area, now that I can actually afford it. farkin' A.

That's NOTHING. Up in Vermont, we had ads for a a hydroponics store on tv. It was called "Hooked-on-ponics" They sold lights and hydro equipment for indoor vegetable and herb growth.

Better yet, on the road to Stowe (a VT ski resort) there was another Hydroponics store just a 1/10th of a mile from a glass-blowing studio.

If you live in California and you're buying this garbage weed, you're a fool. Marijuana is quasi-legal here because of how vague the wording of Prop 215 is. Anyone with a pulse can get a prescription here if you go through Medicann.

It might be pricier to buy at a dispensary, but you get a damn good selection and high quality stuff, depending on where you go. Plus, you don't have to deal with the criminal element.

Probably the reason potheads are so buzzed and wasted these days is BECAUSE of all the pesticides, herbicides and god-knows-whaticides that have been sprayed on their dope. It's not due to better breeding and fertilizing techniques, it's just all the extra chemicals.
